Chapter one: Uncaged "You look anxious my dear what seems to be troubling you" Adolphus said after he'd seen Christa's worried face through the reflection on the bay window he'd got up to close. Christa sighs and with a much alarming look she said "is Ashina" "what about Ashina "Adolphus replied while slowly returning to his side of the bed "both of us know she's getting old yet hasn't found her mate, I can't help but feel worried about her future and that of the pack, you know Zack isn't an Alpha, his ways are too ruthless to be a leader". "You worry too much honey, everything will fall in place" Adolphus replied while kissing her forehead. "and what if it don't "Christa persisted, "trust me it would now lets go to bed" Even with that being said Adolphus couldn't help but think about his beloved daughter and pack Ashina, who happens to be passing by overhears them, sad she hurried to her room. She leans on the bed bench as she sits on the furry carpet, covered her face with both her hands as she sobbed. Morning came and Ashina who felt asleep in her tears woke up took a quick shower and hurried downstairs. "Morning father, morning mother, Ashina greets as she bows to her parents and slowly walks to her seat by his mother's side Moments later Zack walks in through the front door, he'd came back from his morning routine but this time he didn't take his seat like he always do but rather he knelt down in front of all the werewolf present with his head facing the floor. "There is some issue I would like to discuss with you'll and I most of you are aware of" Zack said while slowly lifting up his head and standing on his feet. A loud silence fills the hall as all the faces of the werewolves present suddenly changed. "go on " Adolphus breaks the silence. "As you know my father, the alpha of our pack is now old and in a couple of months time won't be fit to lead us no more, Ashina who is tasked with the responsibility of finding and mating with an alpha who would become the new leader of the pack, unfortunately hasn't made any progress" Ashina face sadden "what is your suggestion" Adolphus said, "let me lead the pack father" The werewolves present started murmuring amongst each other causing a chaotic but calm scene "no, only an alpha has the power to command a pack, a pack without an alpha is as good as dead" Adolphus exclaimed. "but father don't you think is about time we took matters into our own hands than to leave it all to your beloved little girl" Adolphus upon seeing the sadden look on Ashina's face said to Zack "that's enough boy " "but father" Zack persisted " I SAID ENOUGH!!" Adolphus roared and angrily got up of his seat forcing it to go backwards and his eyes glowing bright red " If you truly care about the pack you'd have done what's necessary either than to leave it all to your helpless Ashina", Zack said and storms of out of the room feeling both anger and fear towards his father As the hall became awkward, Ashina feeling sad got up and excused herself out. Ashina steps outs of the mansion hoping the wind will carry her worries away, she couldn't help but foot prints which slowly turned into pawprints as it progress. Curious, Ashina followed the trail. upon seeing the thick claw marks left behind on the trees, Ashina got a bit scared. As she got closer see noticed it was Zack in his werewolf form and glowing blue eyes angrily punching and scratch the trees. "ZACK" Ashina out of fear screams when she saw Zack's claw aiming at her about to rip her face apart. "Ashina what are doing here?" Zack said as he snaps back to his senses, "Look I am sorry about what happened earlier between you and dad I know you're just worried about the pa" Not letting Ashina finish, Zack angrily said, "If only they would listen to me for once -"without an alpha the pack is as good as dead" NO without a leader the is as good as dead, if he really cares about the pack he'd have taken the necessary action and not leave it to his useless precious LUNA" Hurt by the words uttered by her own brother, Ashina burst into tears as she hurried to the mansion straight to her chamber. Zack after realising the damage he'd caused tried to call her but to no avail. Back in the alpha's chambers, tense Adolphus breaths loudly as he walks back and forth across the room. "calm down "Christa whispered Adolphus still pissed by his son stops for a moment and looked at his mate's face, "How can I calm down when my family and pack is in jeopardy -"everything will be fine" and what if don't?" Adolphus while raising his voice at Christa. Silence fills the room as Christa's face dispirits "am sorry dear "Adolphus beaks the silence," I didn't mean to hurt your feelings" Without any response from Christa, Adolphus walks toward her and sat on the bed "am sorry", still no response Adolphus tried to pull her and kiss her but she tilted her head in discomfort and said "am not the only one you should be apologizing to, I know he went a bit far but he did so with concern of the future of our packs leadership and that's a good thing" Adolphus sighs, got up and walked out of his chamber towards Zack's room. He slowing pushes the door to Zack's room open just to find out Zack ain't there so he followed the Zack's scent and which led him to outside somewhere in the woods. As Adolphus approached he saw the thick claw marks on the trees then he knew he was going the right way. "seem you inherited my temper, I can tell from the claw marks you've left behind" Adolphus said while he slowly walked towards his son. "what are you doing here father, you also trying to give me pep talk like Ashina did" Zack said with a naive look on his face. "Am sorry son for acting the way I did, i know you were just worried about the pack and our future as leader". "And are you?" Zack asked. "Look, every werewolf has his purpose and the time comes you'll find your purpose" "WHEN, is like you're , missing the point here, is not about me nor Ashina is about the pack , what will when you are not there and there no alpha to lead us like you said" Zack replied in a slightly raised voice an left the scene. Ashina in here room all she can think about is how to solve all her problems ,"what if I run away, if I find my mate I win and if not I won't return to the pack's territory" Ashina says to herself. Back in the Amoux territory, Liam look disturbed in his chambers," what's troubling you my love" said Lilith while slowly reaching for Liam's face in a seductive way. "is funny how you call me love, it feels like a tease especially because I haven't found my mate yet" Liam replied instantly removing her hand of his face. "Not because you haven't found your mate but because I care for you" "excuse me I want to go take a stroll outside Alone" Liam said leaving Lilith alone in his chambers, Lilith filled with anger and jealousy could do nothing but let Liam go. Night came and Ashina has already made plans to runaway from home. With the sounding of a howl, Ashina got up and sneaks out of her room, she tip toed as she descends the stairs. Out of bounds, Ashina's eyes began to glow bright yellow, fangs began to show and hairs began covering her entire body. Ashina transforms into a black werewolf with bright yellow eyes and leaps into the woods. As Ashina made her way far into the woods, she noticed a mysterious werewolf with a bright blue eyes relentlessly pursuing her. As it got closer, Ashina noticed it's teeth grinning like it had the intention to kill her so she picked up the pace but avail, the mysterious werewolf was fast. With one giant leap, the mysterious werewolf pounces on Ashina causing them to wreck a couple of dead trees in their way as they roll over a couple of times ripping of Ashina's cloths and jade bracelets on her wrist. The mysterious werewolf swings his claws toward Ashina but she managed to dodge the attack and grabbed his hand. Ashina looks into his soul starring eyes and realizes if she doesn't do something and fast she'll die here and now. With fear in her eyes Ashina summons all her strength and leaps off of the wolf and makes a run for. Relentless, the mystery wolf got up and continued pursuing her, it pounces on Ashina again and strikes Ashina but this time it didn't miss as it's claws slashes Ashina. Ashina screams in pain realising the heat of the situation, Ashina tries to fight back but to no avail, the mystery werewolf overpowers her. Ashina crawling backwards on the ground and slowing turning back into her human hoping it would recognise her as the alpha's daughter as the mysterious werewolf approaches her. It held Ashina hand in the air lifting her up until her feet could no longer touch the ground, held it's claw up high ready to deliver one last strike to end Ashina's life.
