"Sapphire, sweetie wake up come on its time for you to get up" I stirred when I heard my mums voice but I didn't know what was going on but I knew that something was wrong because of the way my mum was talking "Mum is everything alright?" I looked up at her and she smiled at me"Happy birthday my sweet daughter of mine I am sorry to say this but me and your dad need to go away on a trip for work and we have to leave you here" when those words left her mouth I didn't know what to feel my parent's always took me on their work trips so why is this one different why did she say that she has to leave me behind why now why on my birthday there are so many things I wanted to say to her right now but I just don't have the heart to tell her but knowing my mum she has something planned for me because it is my eighteenth birthday after all,When I finally found my voice I asked her "Why do you and dad have to go it's my birthday I am eighteen now I don't want you and dad to go away it's a big day and I don't want to be alone for it I've never been alone on my birthday and why can't you take me with you on this trip I've gone on every trip you and dad have been on, why not this one mum?" I looked at her and she smiled weakly down at me and sat down beside me on my bed "The reason we aren't taking you with us is all because this one is very dangerous and we don't want you to get hurt we are trying to protect you" she told me and I just sat up and looked at her as soon as I sat up my puppy Bella came running up from my feet and licked me as if to say good morning, "If it is too dangerous for you to take me with you then it is too dangerous for you and dad to go so please stay" I told my mum and I tried everything to beg her to stay but she won't listen to me I want both of my parents to be here with me for my birthday but I don't even get that anymore all I wanted for today was both of my parents and for us to be happy and celebrate my birthday, "We have to go, sweetie, but I promise you that we will come back and when we do we will do whatever you want I don't know when we will be back but we will be I promise you that my baby girl" she told me and I faked a smile and nodded my head I didn't have a good feeling about this but I knew that they wouldn't leave me behind if it meant putting me in danger and that is what I love about my parents they protect me in whatever way they can, "Okay mum please promise me that you and dad will come back to me because I don't want to go and live with nana and pop" I told her yes I like seeing my nan and my pop but sometimes they can take things a little to out of control like when I had to stay over at there place because my mum and dad wanted some alone time without me so I went to my nans and pops place and my friends asked me if I can go out to their party and I had already asked my mum and dad if I could go prior to me leaving for my nan's and pop's place but as soon as I got there and the day to the party came up I started getting ready and they said I wasn't allowed to go and so I rang my mum and told her and she told them that I was allowed to go but they still said I wasn't allowed to go and apparently they have been like that even when my dad was a child and he first met my mum, "Don't worry my darling daughter you will never go there to live we will send you off to your great aunty Kell's while we are gone" mum told me and as soon as I heard that I groned I hated going to my great aunt Kell's she was the worst she hated me since I was born and she doesn't even know how to cook proper food I am always the one that has to cook for her and I am not allowed to live my life while there I go to school and come back this was before my parents decided to take me along with them on their trips I loved going on the trips with them, "Please mum it's even worse there she makes me cook and clean and look after the kids I don't want to go there" I even put on the waterworks and I never do that not with my mum anyways, "Don't worry sweetie your not going to your great aunty Kell's I promise you that" she told me and I didn't even know it but I was holding in my breath even though I am an only child I still would have loved to have a little brother or a little sister but that is never going to happen because mum and dad always tell me that having me in there life was enough and they didn't want any more kids, "Where am I going while you and dad are away?"
