James stops abruptly at one row that he almost walked past and notice the familiar beings: humans. Not humans from another planet like Zadia but actual humans with things from planet earth. James focuses on one of the screens, a mother looking at the screen, her eyes filled with tears. On another, he quickly looks away, as it was a close-up of a woman’s n****e. James looks at the next and then the next, ‘it seems endless.’ James remembers what he saw when the Faceless touched him and then comes to the realization that the screens are what the babies see, ‘the babies with the strange, presumable blind eyes.’
