## Chapter 4: Reflection Lies Jini’s heart pounded. She took a slow step back. “Smit… are you alright?” He turned toward her, smiling softly. “I’m fine, Mom. Don’t worry.” But the mirror said otherwise. His reflection didn’t blink. Didn’t move. Just… stared. Pole stepped between them. “Let’s find Keri. Now.” They walked deeper into the hallway. The hotel seemed to change around them — doors appeared where there were none, floors creaked where no one stepped. At the very end, they found Room 13. The door was open. Inside, a single candle burned on the floor. No windows. Just mirrors on all four walls. Each wall reflected them — Smit, Jini, Pole — standing in the room. But in the mirrors… Keri stood behind them. Still. Silent. They turned around. Nothing. Pole whispered, “This is wrong. This whole room is wrong.” Jini’s voice trembled. “This is a trap.” Suddenly — the door slammed shut behind them. The candle died. Darkness. Then—CRACK! One mirror shattered from the corner. Then another. The reflections… began to move on their own. They blinked — but not with them. Smit’s mirror-self grinned wider. Jini screamed. “Let us out!” Pole banged on the door. “KERI! SAY SOMETHING!” Then — from every mirror at once — Keri’s voice echoed, soft and distant: > “You should’ve never come here…” And silence returned. Only the mirror showed movement now. In one reflection, Smit smiled again. But in reality… he stood frozen, eyes wide. His mirror self… stepped forward.
