Chapter 2: The Hotel With No Name
The moment they stepped inside the hotel, the door behind them creaked shut with a long, groaning sound — as if sealing them in.
A cold wind brushed past them, even though the inside was fully enclosed.
“Did you feel that?” Jini whispered, tightening her coat. Her voice barely escaped her lips.
Smit glanced back. “It’s just... wind. I think.”
But something about the air felt wrong — too heavy, too still, like the building itself was holding its breath.
They moved toward the main lobby. The wooden floor creaked under their feet. Above them, a grand chandelier swayed gently, though there was no fan or breeze. Dust lay thick like snow on old furniture, and long spider webs clung to the corners.
A broken signboard dangled from a chain near the entrance, its letters faded beyond reading.
“What’s the name of this place?” Keri asked, nervously scanning the walls.
Pole looked up at the empty space where a nameplate should be.
“There is no name,” he muttered. “Just silence.”
He pushed the inner door. It moaned open slowly — **CREEEEAAAKKK** — and they stepped into a long hallway.
---
Inside the Hotel
The hallway stretched far, lit by faint yellow bulbs that flickered like they were gasping for life. Doors lined both sides, all shut tight. The air smelled of wet wood and old secrets.
Suddenly, a chilling **howl** echoed from outside.
**AAAUUUUUUUHHHH!!**
The cry of jackals — wild and haunting.
Jini flinched. “We shouldn’t be here. This place... it’s not right.”
Smit swallowed hard. “Let’s just check one room. Then we leave.”
They walked carefully down the corridor. One door had faded red marks smeared on it — like dried paint… or was it blood?
Pole reached out.
“Don’t!” Keri shouted, stepping back.
Too late.
The door creaked open on its own.
Inside was a dimly lit room, empty… except for an old wooden chair. On it sat a small music box, slowly turning.
**TING… TING… TING… TING…**
No one had touched it.
They stared.
Suddenly, the music stopped mid-note.
And the hallway lights flickered… then died.
---
Pitch Black Silence
“Guys?” Jini whispered in the dark.
“Ssshhh,” Pole replied, his voice tense.
No one moved.
Even their breathing seemed too loud in the silence.
Then — from the end of the hallway — a faint glow appeared. A **mirror** on the wall was shining.
But the reflection it showed made their hearts freeze.
Four of them were standing there.
But the mirror showed **five.**
A fifth person stood behind them — tall, shadowy, faceless.
They all turned around — but no one was there.
---
They ran.
Down the hallway, back to the main lobby.
But where the door had once been… was now a plain wall.
Solid. Cold. No way out.
Smit stumbled back, his voice shaking. “We’re... we’re trapped.”
No one spoke.
Then, from somewhere deep inside the hotel, a soft whisper echoed through the halls — calm and cruel.
**“Half Night has begun…”**
