Chapter Seven

2682 Words
Cemil's POV   I opened my eyes and took a deep breath. The room I was in smelt differently and I looked around the unfamiliar room. I sat up and groaned low as I stretched my stiff muscles.   I once again looked around the room as last night’s memories surfaced. The last thing I remembered was getting warmer and warmer in the jerk’s car. How did I get here? I look horrified at my naked self and thank the goddess that I was partially dressed. I pick up my clothes and get dressed quickly before exiting the room.   I was so stupid to sleep in a stranger’s house and I had to leave immediately. Thank goodness I was intact but who knew what that jerk had in mind?   As I descended the stairs, I used my senses to locate if there was anyone in the house and surprisingly, it was just one person and he was in the kitchen. I made a beeline for the front door but just as I touched the door knob, his voice stopped me.   “Leaving already?”   “f**k off.” I snarled and ran outside. There was a road and trees that stretched out on both sides of the road. I started considering running when the jerk came to the door.   “Don’t be stupid. It’s dangerous out there.”   “And so is here.” I argued.   “Well then who is the least dangerous; a pack of rogues or just one measly human?”   I frowned at him, wondering how he knew I was a werewolf. I debated on leaving but then I considered his warning. I might meet rogues and I can’t rule that thought out since I had no idea where I was in the first place. And it was true; he was just one human that I could knock down if it came to it. I’d stay just for breakfast and then I might consider running. My muscles were too stiff from walking yesterday and a shower won’t hurt anyone.   So I found myself back in the room I woke up, taking a shower. I took my time in there before my stomach protested loudly. I dressed in the clothes I found in the closet since I was told to choose from there. I carried my dirty clothes back downstairs where the rude guy was cooking. I didn't know what to say so I just stood there and watched the man cook.   "The laundry is two doors down the hall. Just leave your clothes there and come back for breakfast." Mr. Rude said without even looking at me which was a rude thing to do.   You don't address someone with your back, it’s rude. But then again, it wasn't a surprise. Leave it to Mr. Rude to demonstrate his name; Rude.   I scowled at his behavior but left the room without saying anything. I found the laundry room and dropped my clothes in a basket. I was very hungry so I took the offer of Mr. Rude and went back to the kitchen for breakfast. I found him setting the food on the table at which I silently sat. There were pancakes, eggs and bacon with apple, mango and orange juices.   "You can take what you like and you can tell me if you want coffee or tea."   "No I'm fine." I said and started putting some food on my plate.   I didn’t start eating though as I waited for him to start eating. He raised a brow at me and then started tasting the food I had on my plate. Once I was satisfied of the safety of the food, I started eating silently but then I decided to ask something I was thinking about.   "Is there anyone else in the house?" I asked.   He looked at me for a long time and I began to think maybe it was a wrong question to ask. Actually, I haven't sensed anyone else in the house and I knew there was no one else beside him and me but I wanted to make sure. I looked away from his gaze and stared at my plate.   "No."   I lifted my head from my plate to him but I found him not looking at me. He was busy typing away on his laptop. I shrugged and continued eating the delicious food on my plate.   "So what happened to you yesterday?"   I scoffed at his question. He was prying in my private life and I didn't want to share my story with a rude person.   "It’s none of your business."   "It became my business when you chose to enter my car." He pressed.   "And it was a choice that you pushed me to make. You wouldn't leave me alone and you practically begged me to enter your car."   He frowned looking at me and somehow looked lost at words. I knew when he started typing on his laptop that I had won the argument.   "I understand you don't feel like telling me that your so called boyfriend dumped you in the middle of nowhere at night. It really is none of my business."   My jaw dropped at his words.   "What? No!" I exclaimed.   "I understand the guy though. You can be irritating at times." He closed his laptop and smirked at me. I bet he was feeling happy at his accusations.   "I don't have a boyfriend and I'm not irritating. No one can dump me in the middle of nowhere. It was just a misunderstanding that led to me being out there that late." I said.   "Yeah, right." He said with the stupid smirk still plastered on his face. "Please do tell what happened." It was a challenge by the sound of his voice and without thinking I fell in the trap.   I explained to him as simple as I could about what happened with the guys at the camp. Skipping the part where I turned into a wolf and go for a run. He listened with a blank face and I couldn't read his emotions.   "Nice. Thanks for telling me." He said after I finished explaining. He got up and took the dirty plates to the dish washer and I collected the remaining ones on the table and gave it to him at the sink.   "So I was thinking you drop me home this morning. Thank you for breakfast and letting me stay here for the night." I told him facing his back. He didn't say anything to me and I waited patiently. Finally after what felt like years of waiting, he turned to me with a blank face and all serious.   "I'm sorry but it’s a long way back to the city and I don't have enough gas to take us there." He dropped the bomb on me.   I looked at him, trying to read him if he was just playing around or it was serious. The look on his face remained blank.   "What do you mean?" I inquired.   "I mean you should stay here until someone brings me gas and we can go on our way back to the city." He explained.   "How long?" I asked dreading the answer but hoping for the best.   "A week."   "Oh hell, no!" I screamed in horror. What did he expect me to do with his rude self for a whole week? I would die of boredom and rudeness.   "It can take less than that but not more than that." He smiled innocently at me.   His words told me I had no choice but to stay here with him. I didn't know what I'd be doing with this guy in a whole week.   "What's your name?" I asked and his smile got bigger if that was even possible. I knew I would definitely not like a word that would be coming out of his mouth.   "I knew you were dying to know my name."   "Oh please!" I sassed dragging out the please and waving him off. I wanted to know his name since we will now be spending a whole lot of days together and it was only appropriate to do the introductions now.   But since his rudeness was making him blind to see the need of introductions now, I dismissed the suggestion and walked out of the kitchen. He could keep his name for all I care and I would definitely keep mine.   "Zach!"   I turned around and looked at him questioningly. I don't know a Zach and definitely that wasn't my name.   "My name is Zach." He said and I nodded and turned back on my way.   "Hey! You didn't tell me yours!" He shouted at me and I thought it was a fair trade if I told him my name. After all I'm a fair trader.   "Cemil," I said and walked away from him to the laundry room.   *** So the day was mysteriously spent well. After doing the laundry, I had a tour of the house after getting an okay to look around the house from Zach. He only told me not to enter one door and I obeyed him and stayed away from the door.   I was curious to see what was in there and what made it off limits but I willed my curiosity away and did as told. I found a library which had lots and lots of books. I looked around and found something worth my time. I actually spent almost the whole day in there with my face buried deep in the book.   Zach brought me lunch in the library and I was glad he wasn't rude about it. He spent the day on his own and I spent mine on my own as well. It was good because it made us stay out of the way of each other and we could not annoy each other that way.   I sat outside when the sun was setting and it was a beautiful sight. The light made the trees shine beautifully and I planned to stay out and watch each sunset on each day I’d spent here.   I was called back inside by Zach for dinner and that’s where I was at the moment. I watched as he cooked for us and I had to admit, it was a nice thing for him to do but I didn't voice my thoughts. I didn't want him to translate something rude out of it.   "I'll be in my study and don't come in there and disturb me. Whatever it is, ignore it and I shall see you in the morning." Zach said slowly.   The study was the room he told me it was off limits. My curiosity came back tenfold at that moment. I didn't want to be rude so I agreed that I won't bother him.   We finished eating and we both went on our way. I saw him carrying beers in the room before locking it. I dismissed any wild thought I had since it only seemed to me that the guy needed some privacy while drinking his guts off. So I went to bed.   I turned and turned in bed but I couldn't find a comfortable position for me to sleep in. And my body wasn't even tired and refused me the pleasure of snoring the night away. After debating with myself on what to do, I got up and out of the room. I wanted to pick a book in the library to keep me company until the time my body will tire out and sleep.   As I was passing the study room, the noise I heard had me slowing my stride. I waited and heard the sound again. I heard moaning and sobbing but I shrugged it off and went on my way to the library. He said I should not interfere and I kept my word.   I looked for a book in the library and it took me half an hour to get something good. It was around 22:37 that I swiftly went back to my room with the book. I was in bed reading when I jumped in fright. A scream that echoed throughout the house is what made me jump. I ran out of my room and to the study where the screams came from.   I stood by the door and heard Zach scream and scream. I couldn't find myself to get in there so I decided to go back and ignore the voice even though it was slowly eating away my resolve.   A crash however, had me taking back the two steps I took from the door. I could not ignore it anymore, so I pounded on the door and called for his name to open it. More crashes followed and I couldn't take it anymore so I threw myself to the door. It took me three tries to finally break down the stubborn door off the hinges.   The sight that welcomed me had me regret the decision of leaving him in the room alone.   The desk and chair in the room were broken. The windows were broken as well to which I assumed he had thrown bottles of beer at. Papers were littering on the floor and glasses scattered with it.   I looked at the man and gasped. He had blood on most visible parts of his body. His face had tears streaming down it. He stood barefoot on the glasses and I knew he had injured himself as there were bloody footsteps on the floor.   "Zach." I whispered and he turned to look at me.   The man before me was drunk and broken. His eyes didn't hide his state and I could easily read him. He was hurt, lonely, betrayed and angry. He took a step towards me and I didn't move. It was like I was glued to the spot and I watched him come to me until he stood before me. I held my breath not knowing what he would do.   Then he hugged me. He held me to his body and then he started sobbing and crying on me. I moved my hands from my side and wrapped them around him. I took deep breaths and just stood there. I didn't really know how long we stood by the door as he cried on me, but after sometime, he quitted down and I gently unwrapped myself from him.   "Let's get you cleaned up." I whispered and tugged him to follow me as I held his hands. I led him to the bathroom and cleaned him up. I bandaged his cuts and removed the glasses that were stuck on some parts of his body but mostly the feet.   I handed him some pajama pants and made him change into them. I then led him to his bed and made him lie down and covered him with the blankets. All the while he didn't say a word to me but watched me silently.   "Goodnight." I said and as I was about to leave, he held my hand.   I looked at him and he moved on the bed to make some space for me and he pulled me on the bed beside him, in his arms. My head was tucked under his chin and then he kissed my head.   "Thank you." He whispered.   I remained unmoving for the most part of the night as I heard him breathe slowly as he slept. I blushed when I remembered what happened. He was drunk and he thanked me but I still broke his rule. I wondered what would be his reaction come morning. I sighed and luckily it wasn’t long before I found myself sleeping.             -------------------------------------
