They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, a quote that a lot of people tend to always preach but do not really understand the concept. As Crystal remembered how your looks have such a huge impact in once life no matter what, where and who you are dealing with. It’s something that you mustn’t take lightly for looks and impression are a very big combination that can be used for success. A thing she learned too late in life. So now, even though her fear was still etched in her very being, she still braved to go to the one place she was hesitant before. She really hated not getting over such an ordeal, but she had no choice but to face her fear once and for all. Crystal’s whole body was literally shaking, as cold sweat ran down her forehead. Her heartbeat was basically in full gear as she sat there waiting for her turn. Until a familiar face suddenly walks in, a grin forms in the young woman’s face seeing Crystal patiently sitting there. The girl immediately does a sort of pose, flaunting her new white sneakers and expensive bag as she walked by her, dressed in a silver crop top and short-shorts. She proceeds to the front desk even raising the sole of her shoe to show its brand. “Hi good morning I have an appointment for eleven o'clock,” she says to the woman upfront. “Let me just check, please have a seat,” the nurse replied. With a wide grin on the face, the young woman sits just opposite of her, facing her and looking her with a smug look. “Fancy meeting you here,” Dana states as she gives her a look from head to toe. Crystal just gives her a sweet yet sarcastic smile. She didn’t see the point in chatting at the moment and was also not in the mood for a debate. Though she knew that the girl was probably looking at her floral dress and flip flops. “Cat got your tongue?” the young woman smirks from the silence. Crystal just keeps her poker face all the while assessing the girl in front of her. There was in no doubt that she was pretty to the level of a model, but the way she carries herself and how she acts around people was a total knock down. If there was one thing that she learned all through out her years of dealing with those kind was to ignore them as much as possible. She was actually used to people who were really full of themselves, but this one really took the cake. From her past to her new life, it seems this girl was really bent on getting on her nerve. Blood boiling the fear and tension that she was feeling a while ago was replaced by an abrupt bravery and strength to go through with the procedure. She had saved for it and was not going to let herself be beaten by this woman. “Miss Aimely, you may step inside now,” the nurse calls out, gesturing her to the door that was beside the counter. “Thank you,” she says as she stands up to go inside. Her insides began twisting from the sudden rush of fright, but her temper overpowered it. As the girl who was looking at her smugly kept reminding her of the fate she was going to encounter in her future if she does not face this now. “You should probably watch out for her, she faints when she’s scared,” Dana says out loud. The nurse turns to her with a sweet smile. “Do you miss?” she asks. “I don’t really know her,” Crystal whispers to the nurse. “Oh,” the woman just looks at Dana in confusion. Crystal knew that the girl was bent on humiliating her, of course that would be possible if she actually knew her. Besides that, she really didn’t want to bother herself with her as she had shown her once more what she needed to face in order not to repeat her mistake. Sitting at the chair that the nurse showed her she takes a deep breath as she takes a look at the doctor who was going to check her. “So, what seems to be the problem?” the dentist asks looking at her with a warm smile. “I’d like to have one of my tooth filled and was thinking if there was anything else needed to be done, since this is my first time,” she asks politely as she was starting to get nervous again. “All right, let’s have a look then,” the man states putting on his face mask and giving her a cup with a brownish minty liquid on it. With one quick slurp, gurgle and spit and she was ready. Letting out a deep breath to slow down her palpitation, she gave herself a good talk on why she needed to go through with this. The moment Crystal stepped out of the clinic, she felt so revived and fulfilled. The procedure wasn’t as horrifying or painful as she thought it would be. It was actual relaxing and fulfilling, being able to have her teeth checked and fix. She was so happy that she only had two of them fixed and the rest just needed proper cleaning. The best part was that she didn’t see Dana on her way out. Crystal was all smiles as she began her way to the mall, it was a Sunday so her mom told her to take the off, as she had already made a routine of helping out in their eatery. She managed to get an allowance during her break as she was helping out all the time, plus she had also managed to hone her skills at cooking, cleaning and preparing food. The trip to the mall was her small victory celebration as she also needed to buy a few things that she needed for her upcoming semester. As she had planned she used her savings on a nice, durable yet stylish bag, some pair of socks, shoes and some toiletries for her personal use. Making sure that she only needed to buy her essentials, she had plenty of spare money for her savings. Of course as a little treat she thought of buying her mom a nice pair of flip flops, a big named mug for her dad and a manicure set for herself. She wanted to make it up to them at least in that lifetime as she was not able to do it before. Crystal was currently looking at some of the kit in the grooming section when she see’s a group of young men together with a familiar face. There were five of them all in all, checking out some stuff in the men’s section. Larse, a guy wearing a blue cap, another with a Jersey and two probable seniors one with a smug look and a ring on his lip and another one with a cross earring. Feeling the need to say hi she immediately approaches them, but suddenly stopped mid way as she began hearing their conversation. “So, you and that girl Crystal going out?” the guys with the blue cap says. She couldn't help but frown upon hearing her name, so she just decides to hide in one of the nearby shelfs to listen in on the conversation. “Yeah man, what’s the deal with her?” the one with the lip ring states. “Sort of,” Larse just chuckled placing his hand on his nape as the group began surrounding him. Crystal was now more confused as she really didn’t think that the two of them were going out. They ate lunch together once and she lets him take her to the school gate, but that was about it, she never thought that they were going into that deep as she was starting to consider Larse as a good friend. She realizes it was one of those guy things that young men do to boost their ego. Seeing as the group was a mixed of youngsters that had just entered puberty. “She does look hot, but not as hot as Dana,” earring guy laughs out loud. That made Crystal frown, being compared to the woman that she hated was something she really didn’t lik, but what really caught her attention was why were they being mentioned. “Yeah, Dana, the one from the cheerleading squad,” Jersey guy added. “Haven’t you boned her yet?” the blue cap kid said giving out a wide grin. “Dude!” Larse pushes the young man away making them all laugh. “Yeah Larse, it didn’t take you that long with Dana, how come your having a hard time with that Crystal girl?” lip ring guy said, giving Larse a malicious look. That made the group laughed even harder. Hearing that Crystal couldn't help her face from straightening as the shock of the revelation was suddenly trust into her. “Whoa, wait a minute! You already did it with the cheer squad captain, I thought that girl had a boyfriend,” Jersey guys said, also quite surprised about hearing it. “She still has,” cap guy intervened. “Poor bastard,” the one with the earring burst out wheezing after laughing his ass of. Crystal’s blood started to boil upon hearing it. She felt her insides tighten as her hate for the said woman grew even more, realizing what was happening. She never did hear why Cyde and Dana broke up, since she never did ask before. But hearing this from the group, she was starting to summarize the events happening before, having an inkling of what might have occurred in their past life. Whats worst was the woman was still actually able to get Clyde back, making her even more angrier than before. She was almost crushing the nail kit she was holding, unable to control her temper anymore. It was like her body was engulfed in a searing fire after finding out about this. Though she wanted to give the young men a piece of her mind, she did not really want to be find out listening on the conversation. With that much information already in her mind, Crystal just decided to immediately walk out of there, leaving the men in their ego driven conversation. She suddenly felt pity and sad for Clyde, having to go through with that kind of betrayal at a young age and experiencing that kind of heart break, she knew that what the man went through was not easy. As she was also still trying to cope with it herself, even thought that entire scenario hasn’t really happened to her as of now. She was still not over the fact that the future him decided to get back together with that woman. She then realized that maybe the two were just meant for each other, as they were both cheating liars. Dana was now really getting on her nerves, but what really got to her at that time was the fact that the new friend she thought she had, was nothing more than someone wanting to get in her pants. “And I though all the things they said about him were just rumors, I should have known better,” she hisses to herself, disappointed at almost becoming another victim. She gives herself a good scolding immediately crossing out the mans name on her mind as one of the people she needed to avoid. Stomping her way through the crowd in a hurry to get away from the group as far as possible. She really didn’t want to confront them as she had promised herself to just try and avoid such people. She was so focused on moving about, making her way through one person to the other that she did not dare to look back. Unbeknownst to Crystal, Larse had already caught a glimpse of her. Though the man was suddenly frozen in place from the thought that they could have been heard by Crystal. He wasn’t able to go after her as he was still being surrounded by his team mates.
