The wedding was being held at the home of Dean’s friends, who lived in a lakefront mansion in Winnetka. The grounds were sprawling and the massive house backed up to a private beach on Lake Michigan. Just looking at the seating and dining areas for the guests, the dance floor that had been set up, the floral arrangements, and the three open bars scattered throughout the backyard made me wonder how much money Clay and Dean had put out for their special day. Even if Dean’s mansion-owning friends had thrown in the use of the house and grounds as a gift, the catering, the flowers, and the general setup were probably costing him and Clay mucho dinero.
