20 A GAY AND FESTIVE CHRISTMAS Decorating the home in a festive garb for the Christmas jollities is just as old a tradition as turkey and plum pudding is for the Christmas feast. It is delightful to plan out a scheme for gaily adorning the entrance hall and living rooms with paper festoons, lanterns, garlands, balloons, streamers, and holly; and the dining-table with masses of crackers. Then there is the Christmas-tree with its dozens of sparkling novelties, and tiny candles, which give it such an exciting appearance.
