The Curse
Two decades ago, The Great War between The Kingdom of Galwar "White Tiger of the North" and "The Phoenix of the South" Kingdom of Synca took place. No one anticipated that The Great and Powerful Kingdom of Galwar will lost the war but the Undefeated Kingdom has fallen.
The victory of Synca has led to a new era that made the Youmor Family the most powerful family in the Land of Rashin. Reigning the North and South of the Land made the other Kingdoms to lower their heads. From then on the Kingdom of Synca acquired the supreme power over the Land of Rashin.
After the war, every member of the Royal family of The Kindom of Galwar was executed to cleanse and renew the throne under the reign of the new King, Darius Yuomor "The Tyrant" third prince of the Kingdom of Synca. A self-centered and cruel King that always wants to impress his Father.
After only five years of his reign, King Darius suffered from a mysterious disease that later ended his life. He was replaced by his older brother Drion "The Butcher". Drion was not different from his brother, even more cruel. He loves seeing blood and death. He even created the game called "The Rogue". It's an annual event where they would pick twelve ordinary citizens put them in an arena to survive against the strong warriors of the land. It's a cruel game that participated by ordinary people chosen by the King, children and women were not exempted.
Again after five years of his reign, Drion The tyrant suffered from an unknown disease. King Droco Youmor, The Great King of Synca, Father of Darius and Drion was alarmed and called all the Physician of the Land to cure his son but no one knew any cure because the disease is still unknown. After a week King Drion the tyrant has died.
The unexplainable death of Drion has spark fear to princes who might be chosen to succeed the throne, this situation has made King Droco to summon The Great Shaman of the north, Grunda who has been captive after the war. A loyal servant to the late King of Galwar and well-known to possess magical powers.
Grunda was released from prison and presented before King Droco but she refused to kneel down.
"Grunda, The Shaman. Do you not fear me?" said King Droco.
Then Grunda's laughter echoed through the halls.
"Fear?! Fear is not in my veins, Droco "The Destoyer" maybe it's in yours." Grunda smirked and look at King Droco.
"Foolish Shaman, how could you talk to the King that way, kneel down right now." shouted by Redun Durin, right hand of the king and pointed his sword to Grunda.
Grunda just glared at him and turned to the King.
"Stop it, I need to talk to her." said the king. "Shaman, the only reason why you're still alive is because I need an answer from you. I hope you'll give it to me before I run out of patience." He warned her.
"I don't value much my life, Destroyer, you can take it if you want. You say, you want answers from me, you know I can't give it to you for free....but I can give you a proposition. What do you think, Droco The destroyer?"
"A proposition? Are you confident that you have the answers, Grunda The Shaman?"
Grunda smiled at him as if she knows what he's thinking. She knows everything that has been happening. Droco knew that she is the only one he needs right now but he knows dealing with a proposition is a risk.
"Well, then, Shaman tell me you proposition." the King concedes to Grunda and take the risk to end the confusion.
"I want my freedom." Grunda waited for this moment, after long years in captivity at last her freedom is at hand.
"Freedom? What are you plotting, Shaman?" Droco exclaimed.
"Are you scared of a mere shaman, Droco The Destroyer?"
The memebers of the council started to whisper and despair is seen in their faces.
"Silence!.....You're one sly Shaman." with a sigh the King said. "Unchain her."
The people around gasped for anticipation as they unchain the Shamans' chain. Grunda gladly shakes her hands as they free them.
"So, tell me, Oh King, what troubles you?" she asked him with a sly smile.
"Your know your freedom is still in my hands, so answer wisely, Shaman."
"Well, of course, Your Highness."
"I know you've already heard about the death of my children, they suffered from an unknown disease that no one can cure. Tell me, what you know about it?"
"Yes, I've heard about it, Your Highness. I don't have an accurate answer but all I can say is, the reason why you can't find a cure for them is because it's a curse. The curse of death."
"The curse of death? Explain it further, Shaman."
"The Curse of Death was a forbidden act of witches. It requires a lot of power, if not death is amicable to the curser. I don't know why but in all this I concluded that The throne of Galwar has been curse, death will fall upon its King."
Chatters filled the room.
"Silence!" shouted the king. "If it's true, how can we end this curse?"
"I do not know, only the curser knows. That witch must be so powerful, all I can say now is you need to find her if you still want to reign over Galwar."
"Your Highness, we can still reign over Galwar without assigning a new King." Redun exclaimed
Grunda laughed.
"Curses hunts, it never stops so even if you won't appoint a King at Galwar, it will still linger and hunt the one who reigns over the kingdom. If you think hard, that person would be you, King Droco The Destroyer, King of Synca. " Grunda explained.
A loud chatter has began again.
"You said, you don't know about the curse. Why are you giving us this conclusion?" Redun asked.
Grunda looked at him and shakes her head.
"That is all I can give you, Your Highness. I have fulfilled my part, now it's your turn, King Droco. I needed my freedom now. You know I am no longer of use to you." she said looking at the King.
King Droco stood up and announced.
"Grunda, The Great Shaman of Galwar, you have fulfilled your end of our proposition. I grant thee freedom."
After the Kings' proclamation, The Unbreakable shackle on her neck opened and fell on the floor. It's a curse shackle that suppress ones' strength and power.
Grunda smiled and said.
"Well, then, Goodbye Your Highness." then she suddenly disappeared before their eyes.
The King knew that Grunda was saying the truth about the curse and that her knowledge about it is limited, he realized that if he wants more answer about the curse, he doesn't need a Shaman but a witch.
