KYLER "Here," Shiloh says, giving me my phone, which I accept. "Thank you, babe," I say, resting it against my ear and it's my mother. She asks how Shiloh is doing, and I tell her she is fine, perplexed by her question since she was just here and saw that Shiloh was fine. When I ask if everything is okay, sensing the tension in her voice, she says she is on her way to the plane that will take her to France. I ask why, and she says my father will explain everything to me, adding that he is on his way to the hospital with the items we requested. I am confused because my father could not enter the last time because he did not want anyone to see him. I don't, however, ask my mother. I just ask if she is sure everything is fine, and she says yes, and her trip to France is an emergency.
