AUTHOR’S POV:
Nevada looks down at Justin, then at Lane and the woman he’s holding. The woman isn’t holding him back; she sits there, staring blankly as if she doesn’t recognize him.
Lane grabs her by the shoulders, looking into her eyes, desperate for a response as he asks her what she’s doing here and what this place is, his voice cracking at the state she’s in.
But the woman doesn’t reply or look at him. She continues looking blankly ahead. Nevada lets go of Justin, whispering that she'll be back, and walks over to Lane. She gets to him and as she stops next to him, she doesn’t miss how even the sound of her chains doesn't catch his attention.
It’s solely focused on this woman, and it’s clear to see that whoever she is, he cares for her.
