AUTHOR’S POV
A knock on the door wakes Elise, and she looks at the time to see that it’s 6:30 a.m. She wonders who it might be. They slept late last night, and her eyes are heavy as she gets up to put on her robe.
They were so overjoyed that Fabrice was awake that they stayed up all night catching up. She makes her way downstairs and rips open the door to reveal the last face she expected.
"Chloe?" she asks, noticing Chloe's red, puffy eyes and Chloe apologizes for the early disturbance and asks if Isabella is in.
This question surprises Elise because Isabella told her that Chloe knew she would go to France and also knew about the company's troubles. She informs Chloe that Isabella has gone to France and watches Chloe's eyes widen, as if she has forgotten, before apologizing once more
