The rest of the world disappeared with the click of the front doors lock. Ashton stood in front of me, kicking off his shoes. His suit jacket straining against his large muscles as he bent foreword. I looked at Ashton as he went about his business. We hadn’t slept together since that night months ago. The night that I decided to leave. Yet, he hadn’t once complained. He threw himself fully into the life of a settled man so completely. I smiled to myself while entrapped in my own thoughts. I had always wanted a relationship like my parents had. I had always felt resentful towards Ashton for not receiving that. Now however, I look at the way things had been since I found out the truth. I realize that I was currently in the relationship I had dreamed of.
