Chapter Nine
The next two weeks went by in a blur of activity. Stacey threw herself into helping William, Amanda, and Brad set up the real estate office. On top of that, she was helping William figure out repairs on her own building.
She was so busy that everything else seemed to fade into the background. She would get up early, work late into the night, and come home to fall asleep. Charlie had to go to Europe for a business trip the second week. Part of her wanted to go with him but she refused to leave William hanging. He had been kind enough to give her time off to go meet Charlie’s family. She didn’t want to ask for more time off.
