Chapter Thirteen “Are you sure about this?” Charlie asked her for the thousandth time today. “Yes,” Stacey repeated through her smile. He nodded and exhaled slowly. The car was winding through the city to the courthouse downtown. He was dressed in a suit but kept playing with his tie nervously. Stacey, however, remained calm. She had felt ill earlier in the morning, but it had passed quickly. Now that she was going to marry Charlie, all she could feel were butterflies in her stomach. It had been five days since they had agreed to forego the large wedding they were planning with Meredith, and had opted for a quiet ceremony at the courthouse instead.
