Johnson shouted, “Hurry the hell up, Daniel. You’re losing the detectives.”
“I’m going as fast as I can. Chill!”
Johnson sighed then bit on his nails in worry. This uneasy sense wouldn’t leave him.
Josh had called him in the nick of time with an address so he was now heading there. He was hoping the police were already at the location if they had the same address.
They drove to a place in the middle of nowhere, almost an hour out of Melbourne. If they didn’t get there in time, he didn’t know what they’d find. Not again. She couldn’t be hurt again. He’d be lost without her.
The police sped up ahead of them, swerving around winding roads. Daniel struggled to keep up, but he was trying. They had to get to her in time. He couldn’t lose her.
