CHAPTER 55
RESOLUTION
Lisa watched her friends touch Serenity’s cheeks. Serenity was trying to wrestle herself out of Lara’s arms. “Stay still, darling. I will let you down in a moment, but first you have to kiss Aunty Lisa goodbye on the cheek.
Lara moved her towards Lisa who ached as she moved her body to lean back against the hospital bed.
“Get better, Aunty Lisa,” said Serenity.
Lisa kissed her little hand. “I will, darling. You be good for your mummy now.”
Lara leaned forward and hugged her friend. “I’ll call you soon and come visit. You can give me all the gory details then.”
Even smiling was painful. “I will.”
Jarod kissed Lisa on the cheek. “Take care, Lisa. I’m glad you’re okay. At least now I won’t get Lara staying up, worrying about you all night.”
