INSIGHT
The next night, Lisa and Johnson sat in her car briefly, watching the house in Carlton that Jude supposedly resided in. Her tight throat caused her to freeze briefly. She turned to Johnson who gave her a reassuring touch on the shoulder. They stepped out of the car.
Johnson led her towards the weatherboard house, and said, “It seems pretty quiet. Are you sure this is the right address?”
Lisa walked alongside him until they reached the door. “It is. Let’s knock on the door.”
Johnson leaned forward and knocked hard. No answer. They waited for a few minutes, knocking once more. When there was still no answer, both of them turned back to the car. A voice caught their attention.
