MYSTERY MAN
Lisa hugged her body tight as she took in the panoramic views of the Melbourne skyline and Port Phillip Bay along the St Kilda Pier. She intently watched passers-by stroll hand in hand, others cycling or rollerblading across the bridge, and some even chasing after toddlers with a chuckle. The gentle wind feathered her hair and brought her a measure of calm amid her chaos.
Lisa needed a time-out to enjoy the water’s edge and be close to nature, taking a break from her city worries. Bowing her head down, she focused on the ground beneath her and wondered what it would be like to sink into the water below then come back up problem-free. If only she didn’t have a stalker. If only she could shut out the past and move forward with dignity.
