PERSPECTIVE
Johnson sat at his desk, tapping a ballpoint pen against the wood. His mind flashed to Lisa. Over the years they’d engaged in harmless flirtation. He recalled a time when he had joked around with her by saying, ‘When are you and I going out? Still waiting, you know.’ Lisa had answered him back by saying, ‘This is a birthday celebration, not a meat market.’ He’d admired their banter and her playfulness over the years.
