The Incident of Aqua Zero

My name is Ethan Fender; and by this name, you should know who I am. This novel you’re reading is my story. Aqua Zero was once a beautiful and thriving city. It is nearly home to thousands  of people. To this day, I still don’t entirely understand what happened there; the only stuff I can think of is typical conspiracy ideas, in a sense; stuff that doesn’t mean s**t as proof.  By now, you must know what I’m talking about. The Incident at Aqua Zero four years ago. For me it still feels more recent. I never recovered from what I saw there. Witnessing people left and right dying, from an Unknown force that sickens me to this day to think about. To begin, I am afraid of the ocean. But the sole purpose I was down there to begin with, was to get inspired to write a novel. The idea I had for the Horror Novel I had in mind, was nothing compared to what happened. I eventually decided to write again. My story, my perspective on Aqua Zero; what you’re reading now, of course. It was no surprise the fact I gained quite a lot of popularity for being a survivor. There were only seven of us that made it to the surface, the rest who were living down there died shortly after; from the decision of the Government to nuke the City. If you ask me, I don’t think that killed whatever was down there. I called them Monsters, Lilly called them infected, and others didn’t care what they were; they just wanted to get out alive. To be honest, I don’t have survivor's guilt. No one down there I really cared about. The closest person I really had a relationship with were the last few survivors I was with at the end. I don’t know what the others are doing right now. I’m pretty sure they would have taken their own lives from the pain; I did, or I tried too. Nearly a week after reaching the surface, I tried to hang myself. I was never good with knots, and the rope simply slid from its knotted bonds. After that, I started to see a therapist. I got better over the years, but it is hard to have dreams; of course, not like I can control them either. I better get to the story. I understand if most of you skipped the Prologue. But, as I explain my survival story, I will break from it to explain outside stuff that might not seem important, but can help me understand my decisions and thoughts. This is the Story of Aqua Zero, the Sub-Merge of Aqua Zero.
