*Myra's POV* I woke up the next morning with a smile on my face. No doubt it was because of Drake. It does feel a bit weird that Riken and I ended things yesterday though, and I already moved to his brother. I guess that's what happens when you make a bet on a girl with your friends. I honestly can't believe that actually happened. "Hey, get up, we've got to be to school in two hours." Blake said in my door way. "I'm already way ahead of you." "You gonna try to cover up the eye today?" "Is there any use in trying?" "It wouldn't hurt to try. You know we're gonna be by your side all day, right? You have each class with at least one of them. And I'll be there during lunch." "Why?" "Because of the party, and Riken." "Blake, you should know that I'm the last person who needs protecting." "I think your new boyfriend begs to differ." "He's not my boyfriend yet. We're taking things slow." "You should've seen his face when he came down last night. He was so happy." "I'm happy." "Good. I'll leave you alone so you can get ready." "Thank you." I got out of bed and got in the shower. Blow dried my hair, then straightened it. I threw on some make up, but the eye still looked terrible. I went and put on a pair of Khaki shorts, a white flowy tank top with flowers at the top, and my white converse. Well, this was the best it was going to get today. I walked down the stairs and in to the kitchen where all the guys were. "Good morning. How's the eye feel?" Micha asked. "About as good as it looks. I told mom I hit it when I was feeding the horses." "You look nice today." Drake said to me. "Thank you, but I know I look terrible." "You look beautiful." I smiled at him. "So what are you gonna do when you see Riken, Lacey, or Jake today?" Cooper asked. "Probably laugh in their faces and walk away." "Good plan!" "Are you guys ready to go to school?" I asked. We all went and got in the car. When we got to school we all parted ways. Drake walked me to all of my classes then decided we'd meet for lunch. I had just walked out of class to go to my locker before lunch when I heard someone behind me. "Can we talk please." "No Riken, we cant." *Drake's POV* We had just gotten to the hall to meet Myra before lunch when we all saw Riken walking up to her. "Just wait and see what happens." Blake said. "Can we talk please?" Riken asked. "No Riken, we cant." "Myra." "Go away, maybe go make a bet on another girl." He grabbed her shoulder to turn her around, then I started to walk toward them when Micha stopped me. "Wait a second man." Myra grabbed him by his wrist, spun it behind his back and pinned him against the lockers. Everyone was looking. "Riken, I will tell you this once and one time only, if you ever touch me, let alone come near me again, I will snap your arm as fast as a football can leave your hand. Don't text me, don't call me, don't even say my name. Do you understand?" "Yes, Yes now please just let me go." he said, and she threw him on the floor. He got up and ran away. We all walked toward her. "Now that's my girl!" I said to her. "Oh shut up and lets go to lunch." "You might be more terrifying than your brothers now." Cooper said. "She always has been, she's just good at hiding it." Blake said as he put his arm around her. We walked to the cafeteria. *Myra's POV* "So, what do you guys think of me trying out for cheer leading?" "Wait, really?" Micha asked. "Why not, she did it in Minnesota. Why not here." Blake said. "Wait, you were a cheerleader?" Drake asked me. "Yes, I was. I made captain freshman year." "What other sports did you do?" Cooper asked. "Well, I did volleyball, gymnastics, cheer leading. I play basketball on the side." "Not to mention you know football like the back of your hand." Cooper said. Just then Lacey came walking in to the cafeteria. Her lip was torn open, both of her eyes were black, her forehead was bruised, and she had stitches just underneath her nose. "Well, holy s**t. I thought yours looked bad. Hers is her entire face!" Jordan said. "I feel terrible about it." I said. She came up behind me, "Can I talk to you for a minute." she asked. "Depends, are you still going to act like a b***h?" I stood up and walked out in the hall with her. "I just wanted to apologize. Saturday, I was possibly the biggest asshole on the face of the earth. Micha told me things in private, that I never intended on saying out loud. And I'm so sorry for almost telling Blake. I know he doesn't know. I just want you to know your secret will always be safe with me. And I'm sorry about your eye." she said. "Honestly, don't apologize for my eye, when your face is completely messed up because of me." "It wouldn't be messed up if I wouldn't have opened my mouth. Now Micha hates me. I guess I was just jealous because you somehow managed to snag 2/3 of the Adams brothers." "Actually, Riken made a bet with the football team to see who could sleep with me first, so that's over." "Are you serious? That, is completely f****d up." "Dead serious, he was on the phone with someone in my room talking about it. And be honest with me. Do you actually like my brother?" "I do. But it's useless now." "Maybe not. Come sit with us." We walked back over to the table and we both sat down. "What is she doing here." Micha asked. "You know what Micha. She's not bad. You did good with her. So if I can forgive her, you can too." He just looked at the both of us. "Come over later." he said to her. "Thank god, because if you didn't invite her, I was gonna smack you in the face and do it myself." We spent the rest of the lunch talking. "So are you coming to cheer try outs tonight?" She asked me. "I actually am. How'd you know." "You know you have video's on you-tube right? You choreographed all of your old schools routines in the past 2 years, you've won 8 national championships for that school, and you're one of the most incredible tumblers I have ever seen. Plus, you can base, back spot, and fly. I'm captain, and I'm saying you already make the team." "You did all of that?" Drake asked. "I have, just didn't know they were on you-tube." "Well, holy s**t!" Cooper said. Then the lunch bell rang. The rest of the day flew by, and it was time to head to the field for try outs and the boys had practice. *Micha's POV* It was time for football practice, so the five of us walked out to the field with Myra and Lacey. To think that Saturday they were beating the s**t out of each other, then they're friends today. Practice was over and we were getting ready to leave when Riken was talking to his friends. "Dude, she's a b***h any way. I don't understand why anyone would want to get with her." I walked over to him. "You better watch what you say about my sister. I'd rather her be a b***h, than an asshole who makes bets with his friends to hurt someone." "What exactly are you going to do about it dude?" he said as he got in my face. The guys walked over to us and stood there. "You better back up." Blake said. "What Micha, you have to have your big brother stick up for you? Cant handle your own?" Jake said. "No, that's not it at all. I'd just rather have Myra mad at me then him." "Riken, just forget about it." Drake said. "How about no." he said. He threw a punch at me. It connected. *Myra's POV* Try outs were over, and like Lacey said I made the squad. Then I heard yelling. "How about no." I heard Riken say from across the field. "Uh, Myra." Lacey said pointing toward a fight. Riken threw a punch at Micha and everything went down hill. "Hey! Micha, Blake, knock it off." I yelled running toward them. The fight continued, Riken and Jake's friends trying to pull them off, Drake and Cooper trying to pull my brothers off. Until the coaches and I stepped in. "Guys stop it!" I yelled. "Just let it go! They're not worth it." "Gentlemen!" the head coach yelled once they were separated. "What in the hell is going on here?" None of them answered. "Rumford!" he yelled again. All three of us looked at him. "Which one?" "How about Miss Rumford, seeing as she's the only one thinking straight right now?" "They were fighting because of me." "Let me guess, brothers don't want you dating Riken." "No." "Then what is it?" I didn't answer. "My brother made a bet with a few of the guys." Drake said. "Drake, shut up now." Riken said to him. "They made a bet on who could sleep with Myra first. Micha heard Riken talking about Myra and said something. Then Riken threw the first punch." "Riken, you're suspended." "What! Coach that's not fair!" "You caused a fight and shamed the team by that bet! You're lucky you're not kicked off the team!" "How many games?" he asked "The first 3." "Coach that means I'm going to miss the Homecoming game." "You should've thought about that then." He said as he walked away. *Drakes' POV* When I got home Riken was already there. He was in the living room, my mom and Mitch were in the kitchen. "This is your fault Drake. You should've just kept your mouth shut." he said pushing me. "No douche bag, this is your fault! You're the one who did that!" I said pushing him back. My mom and Mitch came running in to the living room. "Alright guys that's enough!"Mitch yelled getting in the middle of us. "Riken what happened to your face?" my mom asked. "Why don't you ask Drake." "Drake did you hit your brother?" she asked. "No, Micha did because Riken is an asshole!" "Watch how you talk to mom." Mitch said. "What'd you do?" "You know that girl we were talking about the other night? Riken never really liked her! He made a bet with his buddies on who could sleep with her first. Then his stupid ass decided to talk about it with one of his buddies when he was at her house yesterday, and she heard him. He was talking about her at practice today, then Micha said something, Riken threw a punch, and him and Jake got their asses kicked. So now Riken is suspended for the first 3 games!" "Ri why would you do that?" Mitch asked. "Riken Adams, you did not make a bet on a girl." My mom said. "Mom, Drake let his friends get in to a fight with me today!" "And I don't blame him. What would you do if that happened to Tay?" she said. "I never thought of it like that." "Because you never think Riken!" I yelled at him. "Maybe you should go stay with one of the guys tonight Drake." my mom said. "Why me? Why not Riken?" "Because until further notice, Riken is grounded. And tomorrow morning, him and I are going over to that girls house so he can apologize." "Mom, --" "Not another word! Here are the keys Drake." I got in the truck and drove to Blake and Micha's. I knocked on the door and Myra answered. "Can I stay here tonight?" "Blake?" She yelled. "What's up?" Blake asked. "Can Drake stay here tonight?" "Of course. He just cant sleep in your room since you guys are a thing now, and the fact that mom and dad will be home at 6 tomorrow." I walked in the house and we all sat in the living room. "So, what happened man?" Micha asked. "My mom found out about the Riken thing because he started a fight when I got home. But Mitch got in between us before anything happened. So my mom told me I should stay at a friends house tonight, because Riken is now grounded until further notice, and he and my mom will be here tomorrow morning to apologize to you." "Uh, my dad will be home tomorrow." Myra said. "Even better." Blake said. Tuesday *Myra's POV* I woke up the next morning to my mom saying she would be home in an hour. Why on earth would she wake me up at 5AM, then I remembered my dad still doesn't know about my eye. And my mom doesn't even know the truth. I got out of bed and in the shower. Opened up a new pack of contacts, did my make up, and curled my hair. I put on a floral romper with teal straps and a pair of flip flops then walked downstairs and started breakfast. It was about 6:30 when my parents walked through the door, the boys came downstairs, and breakfast had just gotten done. "It smells great in here!" My dad said as he walked in to the kitchen. "Bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, pancakes, and French toast." "God you're gonna make a great wife." Micha said as he walked in the kitchen. "She did learn from the best." My dad says as he kissed my mom on the cheek. Drake walked in the kitchen and kissed me on the cheek. "Good morning." "What was that? What happened to the brother?" he asked. "Dad, Drake and I realized that we have feelings for each other, but with everything that happened, we decided to take things slow. Talk for a little bit, get to know each other, go on dates to see if we have a potential future. His mom asked him to stay at a friends house last night because him and Riken got in to a fight. But, he slept in Micha's room, which is where he'll always sleep when he stays over. I'm not ready to have s*x right now, and when I am you know I'll tell you --" "Alright honey, we get it. What did you and Riken get in to a fight about boy?" He asked. Then the doorbell rang. "Well, this should be interesting." Blake and Micha said. My dad walked over to the door. "Good morning Mr. Rumford. My name's Elizabeth, and you already know my sons Riken and --" "Hi mom." Drake said as he walked to the door. "Oh, this is where you stayed?" She asked him. "I slept in Micha's room." "Come on in Elizabeth, Myra just made breakfast. Please join us before you take Drake home." My mom said inviting them in. "Actually, I'm not here to talk about Drake. Riken is here to do something, and I'm here to make sure he does it." Riken stared at my dad completely terrified. "Well, lets hear it boy." My dad said as we all walked in to the living room. "Myra, I'm sorry I made that bet with the guys." "Why don't you tell our dad what bet that is Adams." Blake said. He stared terrified again. "Tell her parents Riken." Their mom said. "I made a bet with some of my team mates, on who could sleep with Myra first.. Then I started a fight with Micha yesterday, and Blake jumped in when my friend Jake did. I'm really sorry. Please don't put me in a hole." "Are you alright sweetie?" My mom asked me. "I'm fine mom. It wasn't going to happen in the first place. And dad, don't worry about it. We all know I can take care of myself." "I'm going to let Myra deal with this in her own way." My dad said crossing his arms. "Riken, it's forgotten. But I still mean what I said. Don't talk to me, text me, call me, come near me, or even say my name." "Deal." He said. "I'm sorry for the un announced visit Mr. and Mrs. Rumford. We'll be leaving now. Drake, will you be home tonight?" "The offer still stands Elizabeth, please join us for breakfast. Myra made a feast and I'd hate to see it go to waste." my mom said. They looked at each other then Riken looked at me. I nodded. "We'd love too." Elizabeth said. "So Drake, is this your new girlfriend?" She asked him. "Not yet mom. Hopefully she will be someday." he said grabbing my hand under the table smiling at me. "Well, Myra, I hope you'll still join us for dinner tomorrow, just under different circumstances. I'm sure Drake's step dad would love to meet you still." "Of course I will. You can help me color coordinate for Homecoming." "Drake has never had a date. Let alone to homecoming." "So he's said." Elizabeth and my parents talked for the rest of breakfast. "Thank you for having us, everything was delicious Myra. And, I'm so sorry for my sons behavior." "Hopefully we'll be seeing each other again Elizabeth." "We'll get together soon Sheila!" Then we all headed to school. Wednesday "So are you nervous about dinner tonight?" Drake asked me as I was packing for god knows what. "Drake I've met your mom you know." "Well, yeah, but my little sister will be there, so will my stepdad, Mitch, and my grandparents." "Your grandparents?" "Yeah, I probably should've mentioned that." I held up two swimsuits. "Pink or blue? And Yeah, you probably should've." "Pack both. And I'm sorry, they'll love you." "I hope so. That's everything! Are you ready to go?" "I sure am. You can help me pack to." "For what?" "Jordan, Cooper and I are going too." "Where are we going?" "We've been threatened not to tell you." "Are you serious?" "100%" "Ugh, lets just go get in the truck." We got in the truck, drove for about 15 minutes, and pulled up to a farm house just a bit smaller then ours. We got out and started walking to the door. "I will give you one kiss, if you tell me where we're going tomorrow." "It will take more then that to get me to tell you. Because there's no way in hell I'm going to. But, for one kiss, I will give you one hint." "Deal." I gave him a kiss and looked at him waiting for my hint. "It's where your heart is." "LA? Are we going to LA to visit record labels?" "You'll just have to see there sweet cheeks." "Drake you suck." "I know." We walked in to his house and his mom came up and hugged me. "Hi Myra, its so nice to see you again!" "It's nice to see you too Mrs. Jacobs!" "Now, lets not get all formal! Call me Elizabeth! And this is my husband John!" "It's nice to meet you John!" "Now I see what the big deal is! You're a beautiful young woman!" "Alright guys, where's Taylor?" He asked his mom. "She's in the back yard with Mitch working on her tumbles. Gram and Pop will be here and dinner will be done soon." She replied. He walked me through a big kitchen that looked like a dream for me, then through a big glass sliding door in to a huge back yard and over to a trampoline. "Tay!" He yelled running over to her and jumping on the trampoline. "Boo bear!" She yelled back. I finally caught up and stood next to Mitch. "Hi pretty!" he said. "Hi Mitch." "Drake whose that girl with Mitchy?" "That's Myra. She's going to be my girlfriend soon ya know? Isn't she pretty?" "She's really pretty." she said. "Well you're really pretty too Taylor!" I said to her. Drake got off the trampoline and asked. "So what tumbles are you learning today?" "My back hand springs. I can't get them though." "Well, lets see it." He said. She jumped backwards arching her back and her arms gave out underneath her. "What do you think she's doing wrong My? You know Tay, Myra's won lots of championships for Gymnastics and Cheer leading." "Will you help me please?" she asked me. "Of course I will." I said as I jumped up on the trampoline "We're gonna go see if my mom needs help bringing stuff out." "Will you show me first?" She asked. "Sure!" I did the back hand spring. "How do you do it?" "When you bend backwards in the air, you have to remember to keep your arms straight and locked so they don't give out underneath you. Do you want me to base you the first time you try it?" "Please?" I got down on one knee, she jumped backwards over my hands, and flipped her legs over. "Did I do it right?" "Yes! Good job." She hugged me. "Now try it on your own, remember to keep your arms straight and locked." *Drake's POV* I walked in the kitchen to see my mom looking out the window and in to the back yard. "Well, would you look at that!" she said. "What?" "Tay is landing her back handsprings." "She asked Myra for help, so we left them alone. Do you need help taking stuff out?" "She's so good with her. And Riken and Mitch can help me, you go spend time with Myra." She was right. Myra was really good with Taylor. She is normally shy around people she hasn't met. She just opened right up with her. "Alright you two, it's time for dinner!" I said to the both of them. "Do we have to?" Taylor said to me. "Yeah Drake, do we have to?" "Yes, you do, you both need to eat." "Ugh fine." *Myra's POV* We all sat at the table in the back yard, ate dinner and got to know each other. His grandparents were so wonderful and polite. His step dad was sweet and funny. And I adored his little sister. His family was basically a dream. "Do you want to go for a ride?" Drake asked me. "Uhm, in/on what?" "You choose, side by side, four wheeler, or dirt bike?" "How about side by side." "Mom, John, we're gonna take the side by side. Then I'll take her home when we get back. Is that ok?" "That's fine dear, just be careful." We got in the side by side and started driving up a hill. "Where are we going?" "We're going to my favorite spot in North Carolina." We rode for about another 10 minutes and got to the top of this huge hill, with an over look of all of Mooresville. "Drake, this is beautiful." "Every time I have some thinking to do, or just want to get away for a minute, this is where I come." "I see why. It really is breath taking up here. Can we just sit here for a minute and look at the lights." "Of course we can." We laid on our bellies on the ground for a while and looked at the city lights. Then we took the side by side back, got in the truck, he took me home, and I went to bed, because even though I didn't know where we were going, I knew tomorrow was going to be a long day.
