It felt surreal to wake up to so many changes around me. I became a mother prematurely, but I am now a mother to a baby boy named Julian Adam Katz. Not only was I a mother, but I also had a mother who loved me and was willing to be beside me every step of this journey.
The unknowns, the anxiety that a woman could feel about mothering and raising her child, went out the window as soon as her reassuring voice and soft arms embraced me. Women must have female power around them; it takes a town to raise a child, and now I have everything I need.
