ONE
Dear Elijah,
It was my first day back.
Mom said te cancer was gone,
for now.
Everything happened exactly as i imagined.
I got the pity stares.
I got the welcome flowers.
I got the 'you deserved it' comments.
I got the 'were you pregnant?' jokes too.
What i didn't get was my empty spot behind the school cafeteria.
You were there.
I had heard of you.
Leather jackets and cigarretes.
They said you work for a gang.
You kill.
And steal.
And kill.
I smiled and waved.
Then politely asked you to leave.
You didn't answered so i huffed and sat next to you on the wooden bench.
It was my bench.
I told you about my day,
you didn't seem to care.
I liked that.
Little did i know you were listening.
I gave you half my sandwich.
Little did i know that was the only thing you had eaten in two days.
And i started thinking, what are you doing for you to not eat in two whole days?
It seems weird until,
we talked, and be comfortable to each other.
Well, i talk and you listened, or not.
I wished you goodbye.
I think it might be our bench now.
