Chapter 01
The sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden glow to the bright blue water of the ocean. I stood on the shore with a smile on my face, heart racing with excitement as my gaze fixed on the horizon where the waves meet the endless expanse of the sea. I adjusted my surfboard under my arm, preparing to take on the waves that’s calling me.
As I stepped into the water, a sense of calm washed over me, the sound of the waves soothing my soul. Surfing had been a form of escape for me, ever since that accident, it saved me when I was drowning with my thought and endless crying over the traumatic event that almost caused my life… but beneath the serene water lies a mystery, a story waiting to be told.
How I wished that I was born and raised here in the paradise of Seaview but I wasn’t, I just happen to find my way here when the world turn its back on me, this place saved me together with two old married couple and with them my secrets were safe and a new identity has been given to me… and those secrets lay buried deep within the sands of time, waiting to be uncovered.
Just beside our house stood the Ocean View Resort, a luxurious and famous haven for the wealthy elite in their vacation seeking solace in the sunny shore of Seaview. The resort host to a extravagant events, drawing crowd on high society over the country.
“I don’t want to go.”
“Don’t be like this! You have to enjoy once in a while and there will be a lot of rich men there.”
“That’s why I don’t want to go.” I don't want to risk anything… I already accepted my faith… to be hiding in the eyes of everyone in that world.
Ella was persistent that I couldn’t decline her, though in my mind I will leave in an hour.
The party was loud, full of high end people who’s dancing and drinking. I stood in the bar corner with a drink on my hand as I watch Ella join with the crowd. I scan the room, searching for people that might know me… but my eyes landed on a figure who stood out among the rest… he looked quiet and reserved, holding his drink while people talk around him… he seem out of place admits the glitz and glamour of the resort.
But I couldn’t hep but feel drawn to him, intrigue by the air of mystery that surrounded him. There was something in him that capture my interest and my imaginations. As a spark of curiosity ignited within my soul, I found myself watching him from afar, wondering what secrets lie hidden beneath his stoic expression… and little did I know that that small attraction will be the beginning of something more.

Morning came and as usual I came to the beach together with my surfing board and while I paddled into the waves I notice a familiar figure strolling around the shoreline, his gaze fixed on the horizon.
I bite my lips as I maneuver back my board to the shore, eager to strike a conversation with the man that caught my attention last night, when our eyes met, I offer him a warm smile.
“Beautiful day for a stroll.” I said, my voice carrying with the sound of the crashing waves.
He nodded in agreement, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “It is.” he replied, his voice soft but confident.
We fell into step together, walking along the water’s edge with silence. I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to him that met the eye, that beneath hos reserved self lay a depth of attitude waiting to be discovered.
I wanted to ask what his name was but I was tongue-tied. As we walk, I couldn’t help but notice as his eyes lit upon looking at the ocean. “Do you live near here?” I couldn’t help but ask.
He shake his head. “No, I used to live near an ocean where I used to swim every chance I get.” There was passion in his voice, a longing that mirrored my love for the sea… and with that I made him an offer.
“Why don’t you join me for a surf lesson?” I suggested, gesturing towards my board. “I’d be happy to teach you.”
He hesitated for a moment, his gaze fixed on the crashing waves before him. But then he nodded with a hint of determination, he accepted my offer, his eyes lit up with excitement.
As our journey began, I guided him through the basic of surfing, teaching how to paddle out, catch a wave, and how to ride it back to the shore. He struggled at first but he was determine, he was also a natural as his movement were graceful as he glided across the water that made me look at him with awe.
As the sun began to set, we found ourselves sitting on the beach, watching the waves, it was when he turned to me, a grateful smile flash.
“Thank you for today…” He stopped and chuckle. “I don’t even know your name.”
I smiled. “Nor do I.” We both chuckle with the realization. “I’m Anastasia.”
“I’m Harrison.” He smiled that made his eyes disappear… a genuine smile that took my breathe away.
I smiled back, my heart swelling with warmth. In that moment, I knew there was something special about him… something worth exploring further despite his social background that’s making me hold back.
After that encounter I got scared… scared that I might find myself in the light of those rich men once again, but also scared to let myself fall for him. I didn’t went out for days that made my friend Ella wonder and went to our house.
“What’s gotten into you? You’re acting really weird after meeting that man.” I didn’t want to say anything, scared that I might reveal secrets that I’ve been long hiding. “We should go out, there’s a party in the resort.”
“I’m not going back there, El.”
She shook her head. “Not that resort, the next one. I promise you won’t see him there, I doubt a rich man like him goes to a party that us commoners go.”
I went to distract myself from the lingering thoughts and let myself enjoy and bury the thought of me and Harrison being together.
The air was alive with the sound of music and laughter echoed when we arrive, smokes are everywhere and the lights were blinding as the crowd cheer together with the upbeat music.
I grab myself a drink wanting to drown myself with alcohol and bring back my senses that I lost during that surfing lesson but my eye caught a brown deep eyes that’s looking at me like a hawk from across the room. I almost choke especially when he made his way to me.
Ella was long gone dancing with the crowd while I try to find a escape but it was too late as his hand caught my arm. “I haven’t seen you for days… I’ve been waiting for you every morning.”
That made my heart flutter but I can only shook my head as I don’t know what to answer.
“I should go.”
He stopped me from going anywhere and I don’t know what gotten into me, maybe it’s the drink or his eyes that drawn us to the dance floor not minding the people around us as we start dancing with the slow but slutty rhythm with the music.
Our eyes met, I felt a volt of electricity passing through my vein as his touch travel around my body, and I realized that I was drawned to him. His touch ignite a fire within me that I could no longer ignore.
And then, we kissed, our lips meeting in a passionate embrace that set shiver down my spine and warmth in my cold heart. In that instant time stood still, the world around us fading as we surrender to the heat and desire.
But when I open my eyes I was back to reality… where we could never be together but that was immediately washed away when he hold my hand tight and whispered. “Let’s get out of here.” as he dragged me out of the party.
I had a choice… to say no but instead I nodded and went along with him and letting my desire decide…. and in that moment I knew that there were no turning back especially after seeing that we had arrive in his villa.
Our lips touch once more as we navigate our way to his bedroom. Our lips never leaving each other… but only our clothes.
He carried me and I wrap my legs around his waist as he taste his lips and my hands traveling from his face to his hair down to his neck. “Are you sure about this?” He whispered in the midst of the heat.
“Yes.” I answered.
