1. Dreams
"You're time here is over, I need you out of here ASAP!" The voice thundered.
I could see some of my belongings being moved, and people looking at me.
Some in anger, and others in surprise while I carried one of my bags and began moving. Suddenly, someone tapped my shoulder.
"Hello miss, I'm here to..." He said, but some of his words were drowned out.
"Excuse me?" I replied.
"Helloooo..." He said once more, but his words sounded even more drowned out
"Hellooo..."
"Hellooooooo..."
"Wake up!"
"Huh?" I said before I felt a series of pinches all over my arm.
"I'M AWAKE!!!" I yelled and got up to sit on the bed.
With blurry eyes, my gaze swept across the room. The door opposite my bed, my closet against the wall on my right, a table and chair facing the terrace on my left-hand side, the bathroom on the far right on my left-hand side and lastly, deep brown laughing eyes staring straight at me.
"Finally! I know you're a dreamer, but this one must be something," She said with a giggle.
"Yeah...it was actually. I'll tell you about it."
"Let's do that over breakfast."
"Ok let me..."
"WAKE UP! ITS 5 IN THE MORNING!" My alarm blared and I turned to look at her in shock.
"So my alarm never went off?"
She smiled sheepishly and said, "Hey! I had to wake you up a little earlier. You're hard to wake up and take time in the dream world or the shower. It's not my fault, we need to be punctual."
"I'm not even going to argue. Let me go get ready so we can open the bakery early for you, OK?" I said while rolling my eyes, then headed for the bathroom
...
"...then I woke up."
"Wow! That was weird. What do you think it means though?" She asked.
"I don't know and I didn't get to finish the dream either, maybe there's a stage in life I'm going to leave. I just don't know if it's going to be good or bad."
"Hmm...Let's drop this for now. We have a bakery to open." I heard her say after a short while.
"Sure! I'll handle the dishes while you go open up the shop since you're so punctual."
I stood up to get the plates off the table and put them in the sink behind me.
"You're still not over it?" she asked with an amused edge in her voice.
"I had to take a jab at you at some point," I replied equally amused as I washed the dishes.
I heard her laugh behind me before saying, "Well see you soon Renèe, you better not ditch."
"I wouldn't dream of it, Jackie."
