Two diverse souls. One's a royal, and one's just a mere and puny soul. Despite the fact that they have a vast disparity, they chose to tangle themselves together with the vermillion strings, but in the end, their love was strongly forbidden. One died due to execution, and one also met the same fate by killing himself. But, worry not. Fate has lots of plans in store, making their polaris intersect once again in a different time just to continue the love that was used to be despised by many.

01; love
"The canva you have painted was somehow familiar. Oddly familiar" Two diverse souls. One's a royal and one's just a mere and puny soul. Despite the fact that they have a vast disparity, they chose to tangle themselves with the vermillion strings but in the end, their love was strongly forbidden. One died due to execution and one also met the same fate by killing himself. But worry not. Fate has lots of plans in store, making their polaris intersect once again in a different time just to continue the love that was despised by many. 1880 LOVE. FOUR LETTERS YET, SO DAUNTING. Were the words that Magdalene's mother strongly uttered. "Once you fall in love, your perspective on life changes, dear." It's like a poison. It would either be exquisite or suffer in the pits of dolefulness. Love is a strong word, my dear Magdalene. You don't know anything about it; you don't know how vast the things you'll have to risk for it." Her mother uttered sternly. Magdalene wasn't expecting that; that's how serious her mom qouted "love" the moment she asked her what's her perspectives about it. "I..." Magdalene was befuddled. "What's with that face of yours, Magdalene?" Her mother shifted her glance towards Magdalene as she queried whilst handing her the piece of strawberry cake she have baked earlier. "Nothing, mother. I'm just flabbergasted due to how you conferred love," the damsel replied and smiled. "Hmm.. Are you, perhaps, in love, young lady?" The mother teasingly asked. The moment she heard that, she immediately turned around since her face was red as a tomato. "W-What? ... I am not, mother! I don't even plan on getting married" Magdalene scoffed, with disagreement written on her face. "Otherwise, I would've objected midway of your conferring." Magdalene scoffed and shook her head. Eventually, both of them chuckled whilst taking a bite of the cake. "You know what, mother? If I had the chance to see my father who's a lot worse than the demon named Asmodeus, he could've been long gone by now because my hands are itching to skin him alive," Abruptly uttered by Magdalene. Magdalene's mother reprimanded her,"Oh my, don't plant anger towards your father, sweetheart. Even if that's what he is... even if he left us for the woman he have been lusting at—You should forgive him because he is your father," Magdalene did not respond. If you look at her face, it seems that she really doesn't want to accept what her father did to her mom. "I've forgiven him. I even forgot how his voice sounds." A few seconds, the mother decided to break the ice. The mother was joking when she stated this, but if you look at Magdalene's mother, she appears to be in tears. "Opo, sorry, ma." Magdalene initiated a hug towards her mom. Magdalene Holmes is a very independent woman. She lives in a small town that is reigned over by a carping and haughty king, William De Ville. He did nothing good for the town over his reign for years. He just loves the power. Nothing else. MAGDALENE'S POV. "This town is a real tophet on earth!" "It sure is, unless those pigs no longer rule this town!" "Knock it off, will ya? The guards might eavesdrop!" "You're being paranoid. We're in a small market, dickwad!" "I give no damn! Just look at this town! It's dying!" Arguments here, arguments there. Gosh, I've been fighting the urge inside me to not meddle in their hot arguments. It's true. Since the current king sat on his throne, this town has become a tophet on Earth; however, blabbering words about dislikement towards the king will not help. What do they anticipate? When the king hears those, will he feel sympathy towards them? No, I don't believe so. They just dug their own graves. ~~~~ "Here you go!" The Baker said, handing me the three slices of garlic bread that I have bought. "Thank you!" I thanked the baker and grabbed my bread. There's this place I discovered a few weeks ago. It was strangely soothing. There's a large tree and a gleaming lake of water; it's an ideal spot for picnics, indead. I sat beneath the tree, eating the bread I had purchased and admiring the scenery of the lake. So peaceful... I wanna live here, forever. As the golden sunrays hit my brown hair, I lay down on the bermuda grass. "Hm, looks like someone has found the place I've been gatekeeping for months," a male voice said all of a sudeen. I had no idea I had fallen asleep for an hour. Furthermore, I rushed to stand. "Pardon?" I was perplexed. "Looks like someone found the place I've been gatekeeping for months," he repeated his words again, folding his arms. "And what about it? This isn't your creation, so I can still be here whether you want to or not," I blurted, giving him a cocky look. "Woah, you're a fiesty La demoiselle, aren't ya?" A chuckle came out from his mouth as he drew himself closer to me. "La Demoiselle? What?" I confusedly uttered. "It's another term for a young lady like you." He answered. "Do I appear to care?" I snubbed him. "Ouchie, that hurt. There's no need to be so rude, miss; I was just astounded because someone had discovered my favorite spot, and it was discovered by a beautiful damsel," the latter shrugged and smiled. "Okay, you're clichè." Still giving him an attitude. I'm experiencing a range of emotions right now! It's just the two of us in this strange place. What if he's a jerk?! What if he's a r****t?! "Hey, veg out. Instead of persuading, why don't we get to know each other?" the latter suggested. I was just getting into a peaceful groove in this place when a stranger barged in from nowhere-but, he doesn't appear to be a threat, so, I guess it's okay to talk to him. We sat down on the Bermuda grass and then began talking. "What's your name, damsel?" He curiously asked."Magdalene." I answered. "What a daring name you have; it sounded more like a vampire," he remarked. I said, "Excuse me," in a sarcastic tone to show him that I didn't enjoy his joke and was annoyed when he said it. "Woah, I didn't mean to offend you. I meant it in a nice way." The latter tried to ease the small fire he accidently made. I sighed and changed the topic, "So, what's your name?" I asked. "I'm Ace De Ville, miss." He confidently replied. De Ville? "De ville? Like the Royals?" I queried. "Yeah," He uttered without hesitations. "So you're the prince everyone's talking about," demure words came out from my mouth. He doesn't appear to be lying, however. I can tell by his attire-he even has an armored horse. "M-hm?" He nodded, though he appeared perplexed by what I had said. "Are those garlic breads?" His eyes flashed the moment he saw the garlic bread I placed on the wooden plate. "Yeah, do you want some?" I nicely asked. He appeared to be an amiable person than I have ever imagined. "I'd love to, miss," said by the latter and I handed him the piece of bread. "What made you go out from your kingdom?" I asked, breaking the silence. "I don't like it there," Ace replied flatly. He consumes the garlic bread like a youngster. Despite the fact that my cheeks were about to burst, I did my best to stop my laughter. "Why though?" I urgely asked. "Let's not talk about it, miss." Ace concluded. "Oh, sige." I sighed. We've been here for hours, nattering about whatever questions or stories come to mind; despite this, we have a lot in common. He enjoys garlic bread as much as I do, haha. I mean, his earlier expression says it all. "You love garlic bread, don't you?" I chuckled. He let a small chuckle out from his mouth as well and nodded. "You know, people used to say that your father was a really awful king." I informed him and he nodded his head slowly, portraying an expression that seemed to validate my viewpoint. "Can't argue with that, miss. It's true, my father is a really bad king" He spoke while chewing the bread. Silence conquered the place. We talked about few things and spent our time watching the scenery of the lake. We were aware of our many similarities in some way. "It's almost night. We should go home now," Ace softly said, offering his hand in front of me and motioning me to stand. "Thank you, your highness—" The latter did not let me finish my words and said "Address me your highness not. I prefer my name." He corrected me whilst holding my hands. "T-Thank you, Ace." I awkwardly smiled. Our profiles were so close to eachother. I can feel his breath already. I instantaneously shifted my head further from his,"I-I must go now, my mom is probably waiting for me to come home by now!" I hurriedly walked away without looking back at him. "Don't let the bed bugs bite ya!" Ace cheerfully said. "Likewise!" I exclaimed and continued to walk. At our house, "Where were you, Magdalene?" Mom said. It seems like she's mad but at the same time, she's worried. "Ah, just outside! I saw a really ethereal place earlier, it has a beautiful lake and a big three thus I couldn't help but spend my afternoon there." I explained whilst brushing my hair. A warm smile appeared on my face. "So is that why there're lots of grass on your clothes? Tsk." Mother clicked her tongue as she shook her head. "Pardon, mother. I'll change my clothes, don't worry, " I apologized. IN THE NEXT DAY, I woke up due to the sun, hitting my face. It's morning apready. I got out of bed and headed downstairs to prepare breakfast. My mother is currently sleeping, but she will awaken soon, so I hastily made some food so that she can eat when she awakens. also took two fresh salmons and two eggs. Afterwards, I then broke the yolks from the two cracked eggs and mixed the mixture. Scrambled eggs would be a good breakfast! "Hmm hm hmm~" I hummed whilst preparing the food. "Hmm~ The aroma tastes delicious, sweethart. What are you cooking?" She curiously asked. As expected, she'll wake up due to the smell. "I made two sunny side ups and fried two salmons for us, ma," I answered nicely whilst taking the food out of the pan. "That's wonderful. Can we eat now? I'm hungry already," She warmly asked. Before we eat, we prayed first. "Bless us oh Lord for thy gifts which we have recieved from bounty oh Christ, our Lord, Amen." After the prayer, we began to eat. Mom and I had a beautiful discussion this morning; we talked about planting more flowers, veggies, and fruits outside our garden so that we don't have to buy at the market anymore. ~~~~ I took a bath earlier and now, I'm searching for some clothes that are comfortable. I found a white puff-sleeve dress with small cherries stitched on it. This dress is my favorite until now. Mom made this dress as a gift back on my birthday! After I changed my clothes, I went out and went to where I met the prince. Will he be there this afternoon? I mean, he told me that he constantly goes there so, that means that he is. At the place, I have arrived after a short distance of walking. My eyes were wandering the area in search of him. Sadly, he wasn't present. I sighed, and then suddenly... I jumped out of panic as I heard a male voice say, "Boo!" from behind me. "Ah!" I screamed. Eventually, I realized it was Ace. "It's not funny, Ace!" I persuaded. He just laughed. "You should've seen your face! Haha!" He teasingly said, helding his belly as he laugh horrendously. "Shut up!" I exclaimed. "Okay okay!" He tried to ease my anger. "You look beautiful," He complimented, darting his gaze towards me softly. Right now, his hair is down. I adore the way his hair strands rest on his forehead. He appears hotter as a result. And as usual, we talked again. He brought snacks, saying he brought those so that we won't get bored talking to eachother. It felt like we've known eachother for a long time. Going in that glistening lake was the best decision I've ever made. Otherwise, I would not have met that handsome prince. However, a part of me keeps telling myself that men will be men. I've hated them ever since I discovered what my father did to my mother. However, Ace... I'm not sure. I think it's best if I stop going there so I can avoid him. So that I can stop myself from falling into the pits of affection. ~~~~ A week have passed ever since I stopped visiting that place. In fact, I even forgot that a prince. A GODDAMN PRINCE enjoyed having a small chatter with me. Everytime I see garlic breads, the face of him suddenly lingers my mind. "Miss, are you still there?" A male confusingly asked, waving infront of me to bring me back to my senses. He said that I was staring at him for 10 minutes already. I didn't replied and immediately walked away. I was ebarrassed. In a nutshell, I was looking for vegetables but couldn't find any that were both healthy and fresh. "At last, I found you, damsel," I got startled when a male suddenly spoke. The moment I darted my gaze at him, it was Ace. wait what? "A-ace-" People have cut me off instantaneously the moment they saw the prince. "Isn't that our prince!?" "Oh my god, Viktoria! The prince is here!" "He's so majestic..." A lot of people gathered around Ace. I couldn't help but laugh at Ace's expression. He appeared to be perplexed and befuddled at the same time. "That kid is so handsome!" "Your Majesty, when will you rule this town?" "We're dying to witness your good deeds!" People praised him. Nevertheless, even if there were lots of beautiful women that had surrounded Ace, he only smiled and went to where I was standing. "M'lady?" He called out to me and extended his hand, inviting me to ride on his horse with him. We both made our way away from the crowd after that, and we both managed a short giggle. I adore the way my hair was blown by the wind as the golden sunrays bathed us. "So, Prince Ace, how does it feel to be praised?" I asked in jest. He didn't answer, instead, he let a small chuckle out of his mouth. He held my hand which was wrapped around his waist, taking a small grasp so that I won't fall whilst we ride the horse. A few seconds later, he carassed my hands softly. "Let's go to our place," He said, referring to the place where we met. ~~~~ "Isn't it pulchritudinous?" The scenery looks so delightful, the birds are humming and it felt so relaxing. Ace said softly, "It sure does look very ethereal. However, that beauty is nothing if we compare it to yours." I didn't notice he was looking at me when he said it until I turned my head to look at him. I nervously answered, "Uh, thank you," and moved my head away from his because our frames were so near to one another. The latter cleared his throat and got to his feet, saying, "Pardon, miss." It went silent after that conclusion so, I decided to break the ice. "Is being in love one of your forte?" I impulsively asked. He didn't answer, instead, he nodded and smiled. "I'll take that as a yes then." I chuckled. "Have you ever been in love?" I added another question. I'm pretty sure he finds me weird already. "Well—" He was about to answer but, I suddenly exclaimed. "Oh my, it's raining!" I exclaimed. I don't have an umbrella with me, so, that means that both of us will be soak in water! "Hey, there's no need to agitate, love." He comfortingly said whilst caressing my hand. Love? What's he saying? "Come on, it'll be fun!" Ace reassured me and dragged me into the pouring rain. "Wait, it's f*****g cold!" I persuaded. "I never got to play in the muddy puddles when I was a kid, so please, damsel; enjoy the rain with me." He pleaded. He never get to play with the rain in his entire life? "Are you serious?" I confusion swallowed me. Ace sighed and scratched his temple, "I am. Father was incredibly strict back then. He never allowed me out of the palace for two decades so my childhood wasn't really memorable." "Okay fine, I'll enjoy the rain with you."I replied. So that's why he looked utterly happy when the rain started pouring. "M'lady, may we have dance?" He seemed really suspicious right now... does he somehow like me? "I'd love to, your highness--" "It's Ace, la demoiselle." He corrected me in a teasy way. We began dancing. His hands feels soft... so soft. The moment he caressed my cheeks, it made my heart flattered. No, I must not love him. He's out of my league. Subsequently, the rain stopped and so did our dance. He kissed my cheeks and gave me a warm hug. "I love you, see you tomorrow, love." The words from him that left me startled. I stood here puzzled as I watched him go get his horse before he vanished from view. L-love?... ACE POV She's well-tangled to my soul. Her touch means everything to me. I love her; body, soul and everything about her. She is worth my fall. We are dancing romantically whilst the rain pours. I don't know what's with her. When I didn't got the chance to see her for days, I lost interests in everything. Her beauty, along with her soul have bewitched mine. When the rain stopped, our dance stopped as well. I kissed her cheeks; I just couldn't stop myself. "I love you. I'll see you tomorrow again, love." I whispered to her ears. Afterwards, I then went to fetch my horse. I looked back at her for a second whilst riding my horse, giving her my warmest smile. After that, I waved goodbye. ~~~~ "Where were you, Ace?!" My father indignantly beseeched; He was furious. "I went out, father; I'm old enough to handle myself so, give me some space. I'm not your prisoner, father; I'm your son!" I persuaded. I'm sick of being controlled by him; I despise him. I can't stand the sight of him ever since I knew how my mother disappeared. "Hey, watch your language! I am your father incase you forgot because of how foolish you are! You are nothing without me! So learn not to choose such poorly words just to affront me!" My father slammed the door amidst our argument and darted the most furious gaze towards me. "Really father? Well, the moment I'll finally have my reign, I will terminate thee!" Were the words that escaped my mouth due to anger. Silence have conquered the room after I let go of those reckless words. "Kill me? I am the king here! You know I can execute you in one command, Ace!" A few second, father broke the silence bawled amidst the momentum he attempted to land his hand on me but, I managed to grip his arm. He have been beating me up ever since I was just a kid so, reading his moves is just a piece of cake. "If that's the case, then do it. Who's gonna take care of the De Ville's wealth if your only heir dies, father? No one, indeed. You're old already so, think twice before you do something imbecilic." I retorted as I let go of his arm. Afterwards, I then walked out of the room. To be honest, I got scared when he threatened me, saying that he'll put me to my death. However, it's like sabotaging himself. If I disappear, no one will take care of his wealth right after he dies and that's a big problem for a selfish man like my father. Words uttered in rage are more likely to be interpreted as lies. Actions motivated by hatred can also result in self-condemnation. Anger is also a strong word; it should not be underestimated because no one knows how bad a mortal can be when enraged, and things that should not be done can also happen when you're enraged. Magdalene... That demoiselle looks like a goddess. Her long brown hair, blue eyes, and rosy cheeks conquered my mind. Even earlier, amidst the fight that I and my father have had, the only thing on my mind was her. I don't know why. It just felt too unusual, especially for a man like me, for whom being in love has never been his forte. I wanna see her again.
