Chapter 1: The Last Thirty Days
The sterile smell of antiseptic clung to the air like a shroud. Elena Voss sat on the edge of the examination table, her fingers twisting the thin paper gown until it tore. The oncologist’s words still echoed in her skull, each one a hammer blow.
“Stage four. Aggressive. One month, maybe six weeks if we’re lucky. I’m so sorry, Elena.”
Twenty-three years old. Virgin. Law firm paralegal who still lived in a tiny studio apartment and spent her evenings buried in case files instead of living. One month.
The drive home was a blur of tears and horn blasts. By the time she slammed her apartment door behind her, something inside her had shattered and reformed into something feral.
No more waiting. No more “someday.” No more playing it safe.
She showered with brutal efficiency, then stood naked in front of her mirror. Her body was soft in all the places she’d always been told to hide — full breasts, wide hips, a stomach that wasn’t flat. She ran her hands over her skin slowly, feeling the warmth, the living pulse beneath it. This body had thirty days left. She was going to wring every drop of pleasure from it before it betrayed her.
Elena chose her outfit like armor for war: a tight black dress that clung to every curve, plunging neckline, hem barely covering the tops of her thighs. No panties. She wanted to feel the cool night air against her bare p***y as she walked. Blood-red lipstick. Smoky eyes. Heels that made her legs look endless.
The club was called *Velvet Eclipse* — an exclusive, members-only venue known for discretion and beautiful people who sold fantasies for the right price. She’d heard whispers about it at the firm. Tonight, she didn’t care about the cost. She had savings. She had credit cards. She had one month.
The bass thrummed through her bones as she stepped inside. Dim crimson lighting, leather booths, the heavy scent of expensive cologne, perfume, and raw s*x already hanging in the air. A hostess with perfect cheekbones led her to a private lounge area.
“I want seven,” Elena said, voice steadier than she felt. “The most beautiful men you have. I want them tonight. All of them.”
The hostess didn’t blink. Money talked. Within twenty minutes, seven men stood before her in the dimly lit VIP room — tall, sculpted, each one radiating a different flavor of temptation.
She circled them slowly, letting her fingers trail across hard chests and sharp jawlines. One had golden hair and a surfer’s body. Another was dark-skinned with tattoos curling over defined abs. A third had piercing green eyes and a wicked smile. They smelled like sin and expensive soap.
Then she reached the seventh man.
He stood slightly apart, taller than the rest, his posture radiating controlled power rather than eager performance. Black hair, sharp cheekbones that could cut glass, eyes like frozen steel. His suit was tailored perfection, the kind that cost more than her rent. Something about him made the air feel thicker.
“I’ll take all of you,” she murmured, letting her gaze linger on each of them, but returning to the seventh again and again. “Private room. No limits. I want to feel everything.”
A low, velvet voice cut through the agreement of the others.
“Careful what you wish for, little girl.”
Her stomach flipped. That voice. She knew that voice.
She stepped closer, heart suddenly hammering. The man’s eyes locked onto hers — cold, intense, and now blazing with recognition.
Alexander Voss — no, *Blackwood*. The man who had just bought the entire law firm she worked for three days ago. The ice-cold CEO who had walked through the office like he owned every soul inside it. He had barely glanced at the staff during the announcement. And now here he was, dressed down from his usual three-piece suit but still radiating the same terrifying authority.
His jaw tightened. A flicker of something dangerous crossed his face — surprise, then hunger, then raw possession.
“You,” he said, low enough that only she could hear. “Elena Voss. My new paralegal.”
The other six men shifted, sensing the shift in energy.
Elena’s thighs clenched involuntarily. The man she had just hired for a night of reckless debauchery was her boss. The one who now controlled her paycheck, her career… and apparently, from the way his gaze dragged down her body like he wanted to devour her, something far more primal.
She should have backed out. She should have run.
Instead, she lifted her chin, pulse racing between her legs, and whispered back:
“Then you’d better keep up, Mr. Blackwood. I don’t have time to waste.”
---
The private suite was luxurious — massive bed draped in black silk, mirrored walls, a St. Andrew’s cross in one corner, a padded bench with restraints, and an array of toys already laid out like they’d been expecting exactly this kind of night.
Alexander dismissed the other six men with a single sharp gesture and a black card. “Another night. Tonight she’s mine.”
They left without argument. No one argued with a man like him.
The door clicked shut.
Elena’s breath caught as he stalked toward her, loosening his tie with deliberate slowness. The air between them crackled. He stopped inches away, towering over her, the scent of his cologne — dark cedar, leather, and something unmistakably masculine — wrapping around her like chains.
“You have no idea what you just started,” he murmured, voice rough. One large hand came up to grip her jaw, tilting her face up to his. His thumb brushed her lower lip, smearing her red lipstick. “I was here to unwind. Instead I found a virgin who smells like she’s already soaked for me.”
Her cheeks burned. Her p***y throbbed.
“I’m dying,” she blurted suddenly, the words tasting like both truth and rebellion. “One month. I don’t want gentle. I don’t want safe. I want to be ruined.”
Something in Alexander’s eyes shifted — darker, deeper. The cold CEO mask cracked, revealing the predator beneath.
His hand slid from her jaw to her throat, squeezing just enough to make her gasp.
“Then get on your knees, Elena. We’re going to make your last thirty days the most obscene thirty days of your f*****g life. And when I’m done with you tonight, you won’t be able to walk without remembering who owns this body now.”
He pushed her down slowly, powerfully, until her knees hit the plush carpet. The thick bulge in his trousers was right in front of her face.
“Open.”
