Chapter 1
Amber POV
I stepped out of the Bar all red and Tipsy, it was my first time trying Alcohol since i turned Eighteen, the intention was to find solace in the drink but i ended up getting overly drunk.
I chuckled as i staggered along the entrance of the bar, it was mid evening and the day was still clear, some of the customers going into the bar stared at me with that ridiculous eyes, while covering thier noses.
I chuckled, what a life, suddenly a ding dong sound coming from my purse made me pause in my steps, with a shaking hand, i opened the pulse and brought out my phone.
When i saw the text on the screen, i couldn't believe it, was this real, earlier this morning, i and my husband had a huge fight, i decided to end my sorrows in alcohol, now he sent me this test, my heart jumped, does this mean he still cared for me, my hope ignited.
Actually, my husband and i weren't the perfect couple, he married me out of necessity, to fulfill his family wishes, but i married him out of love, he had always been the love of my life. I stared at the text again.
'Amber, am sorry for what i said this morning, i was indeed foolish, i want to make it up to you, meet me at room 902 at Evergreen hotel, its our Anniversary night, i don't want to sleep being mad at you.'
I chuckled with happiness and a mix of sadness, i pulled myself together and hailed a cab to Evergreen hotel.
Immediately i got down, i paid the cab and hurriedly rushed to the front desk of the hotel, the receptionist looked at me with disgust, probably because i reeked of alcohol.
"Where is room number 902? What floor.."
"The Seventh floor ma'am..."
I couldn't even finish when the receptionist cut me off rudely, at least she told me what i wanted to know, i didn't press anymore and headed to the elevator.
My heart thumped loudly against my chest in anticipation of what was to come, Lucas plans on making it up to me, i wonder what he has prepared, a nine hundred and ninety nine red roses? I heard that's really popular among young couples.
Within minutes after exiting the elevator, i was standing in front of the room, i rang the doorbell by the side but no one answered, i pushed open the door slightly, the darkness inside creeping me out, i courageously stepped in when a masculine hand pulled close to his chest, my breath stiffened.
"Lucas..."
"Shhhhh...don't spoil the fun little flower." His thick accent sounded in my ears like a gush of sweet air.
His muscular cologne and broad shoulders made me feel safe, soon his hand wandered down my shoulders, to my curvy shape and large butt, he grabbed my butt and lifted me off my feet, throwing me carelessly on the large king sized bed.
I murmured some incoherent words as my cheeks turned slightly red and flustered, Lucas approached the bed with light footsteps, it was dark but apparently i could hear the sound of my heart beat in the room.
Lucas jumped on the bed, crawling his way on top my body while his hands wandered to my sensitive spots making me moan out in pleasure. His lips traced the lines from my neck to my abdomen as his hands undressed me slowly, i gruntled in satisfaction as i tried to wrap my tiny hands around his neck when he suddenly stopped, my breath hitched, was he mad at me.
I didn't realize what had happened but Lucas let out a painful grunt and let go of my neck, soon i heard an unbuttoning of his belt and he pounced on me again, however, this time, he became even gentler with his actions.
The next morning, i woke up to a sour feeling between my thighs and an empty bed, Lucas was nowhere to be found, i quickly got up and rushed to the restroom but he wasn't there, my heart skipped.
"Lucas....Lucas..." I called out desperately but it was futile, he was gone, does yesterday night mean nothing to him, it was my first time and he knew that.
Suddenly i heard a notifications sound on my phone, my eyes almost popped out of its socket when i saw this, the text message was unbelievable.
'Where have you been Amber? Why won't you pick your phone since last night.'
I frowned at the phone, what joke is this dude playing now, i was with him the entire night, and he even took my virginity after three years of my marriage to him.
I opened my phone and i wasn't shocked to see ninety nine missed calls, some from Lucas, while some from my Mother-in-law, even my twin sister Janet called. I quickly grabbed a towel and after taking a shower, I dressed and exited the hotel, taking a cab to my Home, a huge mansion at the far end of town.
I walked slowly into the mansion and meant the furious gaze of my mother-in-law, even Lucas father was present, his Sister and their family lawyer stood by the side silently watching as all this unwinds.
"What's going on? Why are you all here?" I asked cautiously when suddenly my Mother-in-law walked towards me and gave me a hot slap on the cheeks.
I held my cheeks immediately, it was red from the pains, even her five prints were visible on my face, but she hasn't had her full, she dragged my hands and forced me to sit on the cushion on the chair.
"Sign it now." Lucas voice thundered as he walked towards me. My eyes looked up in confusion.
"Sign what? What do you mean? Why are you guys like this?" I asked but Lucas only snarled in return.
"Where were you last night? You dare to cheat on me with your basterd lover, i dare to divorce you, now sign this documents now!" His voice thundered in the Sitting room, scattering ny heart alongside it.
"What do you mean? Lucas i was with you last night, we had our first time, what are talking about, why are you being like this?" I questioned with teary eyes, my hands cupping into a fist to beg him.
Lucas frowned. "Why are you trying to deny it? I was with you last night? Are you kidding, if you want to lie, find a reasonable explanation to do that asshole."
"I was definitely with you last night, you texted me to come to the Hotel..." I said with watery eyes as i hurriedly brought out my phone to show him the text, to my bewilderment, the text was gone, gone!!! How's that possible, i looked with widened teary eyes at my Father-in-law disappointed face.
"Sign the Divorce papers now!! Am done with your slut!" Lucas harsh voice was like a saw cutting through my heart, but what broke me most was seeing my twin sister, walking down the grand stairs with a triumphant grin on her face.
She walked majestically to Lucas and interwined her hands with his while giving him a peck at the chin, Lucas smiled lovingly at her, a mocking contrast to the way he looked at me earlier with hatred.
"Janet!! This isn't true right, you know me too well, i would never cheat on Lucas, please help me talk to him, am..." I hurriedly begged, with my knees on the floor and tears streaming down my eyes, i refuse to believe that Janet would betray me, we were inseparable, she can't do this to me.
To my dismay, Janet slapped my hands holding her dress and scowled at me. "Its over Amber, stop pretending with your Crocodile tears, the video of your night with your lover is wiith us, if you don't don't want it released to the media, sign the f*****g Divorce papers, Lucas is mine and mine alone."
