On my wedding day, Justin leaned in and whispered,”Don't mistake this marriage for love. You are just saving your father's ass from bankruptcy. I stared at his blue eyes with all of the courage in me. To be honest, I knew from the onset that I am not marrying for love. Just like he said, I am marrying my father's saviour… the man who saved my parent's company from crumbling. I can still remember the day my parents both came to my room when I was sleeping soundly in my room. I was dreaming about meeting my dream man, about creating memories with the man of my dreams. I must have been smiling in my dreams when I felt a hand tap me on my thighs. I woke up startled immediately. Well fun fact about me, I am a very light sleeper and I stir even with the littlest of noises. Two pairs of unsmiling eyes were staring down at me. I knew immediately tha this is a very important issue. And to think that I can't remember the last time my father came into my room. I glanced at them both. Dad was sitting on one of my ottoman couch while mum was sitted on the bed with an expression that I can't read. “Are you awake?” She asked me and I nodded as I yawned lightly. She glanced at my father and I knew she wanted him to clear the air. Why do I feel like they are carrying a bad news? “Angela, we are broke”! My father finally said and I gasped. That sounds almost impossible. My parents are very wealthy people. I am not talking middle class, I am talking upper upper class individuals. My dad and Mom has one of the most successful finance companies in the USA. We grew up in comfort and luxury. We still are. So hearing this coming from my parents is a big surprise for me. “Daddy, what do you mean” I asked in confusion. My father still has a blank expression in his face. The one I always find hard to read. “Mr Steve hacked into our systems and has ran with almost all the company's money. We are broke Angela. We are broke” mum said and I feared that she might cry in the next minute. She was shaking her head in a sorrowful manner. I have never seen my mom this was my before. “What?” I shrieked the moment I heard the bad news. “When did this happen?” Why didn't you tell me dad?” Where did Mr Steve run to?” I bombarded them with a lot of questions. “You can't do anything about it Angie. He is out of the country already and tracking him will cost us money that we don't even have” Dad told me. “I am a cyber security officer dad and I know a lot about data and the cyber world “ I said but my dad shook his head. “All of that does not matter anymore Angie. Now, we have to focus on what to do and how to find a solution” he said in the most frustrated voice I had ever heard him talk in. Just then, his phone which was in his hands as if it was waiting for a call started ringing. He picked it up immediately. His facial expressions changed as he muttered a few words as he sprang on his feet and exclaimed. “What?”
