“Look at you!” I demanded. “Nobody is going to believe you. All I have to do is tell them you are a crazy fan who won’t leave me alone and that you belong in a mental institution. It won’t be that hard to convince anyone that you are delusional, and you are. If you think I’m going to tolerate this behavior, you’re wrong. Now, you have an opportunity to take a little money and be on your way, or you can spend the night in jail, get transferred to the state hospital, and get nothing. Which will it be?”
She made no reply. She got up from the ground, walked over to me, snatched the money from my hand, and walked casually into the darkness. “You were the best f**k I ever had,” she said nonchalantly as she disappeared into the darkness.
