She did exactly as I expected the woman who had stood by me through it all to do. She accepted. She hugged me, told me that she loved me, and that she was so glad I had come to understand. After all, she had understood love and forgiveness long before I ever actually came to that awareness. I realized that it was possible that my behavior could have pushed her to the point that she could no longer tolerate it, but I also realized that even then, she would never have stopped loving me. Even if she had been forced by my behavior to leave me, she still would have loved me. I had no more need for that behavior and that was a good thing.
