The birth of a renowned footballer's life
In the 19th century, advanced football began in the United Kingdom. Despite the fact that "folk football" has been played with varying rules since medieval times, it became standardized when it was adopted as a winter distraction at open schools, and it is now the world's most popular sport.
Football's origins have brought us into contact with a wide range of individuals, as it is a game that is played in every country. Great athletes from the sport have come to teach us more about the game. Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Pele, Maradona, and others are among the finest players. This wonderful game has introduced the author of this story to a young gifted footballer (Gomis) who has been disabled from birth and is eager to be recognized as one of the finest in the sport.
... On the 8th of August, 2000, it was an overcast day. In the city of Rio Branco, the capital of the Acre estado in western Brazil, there lived an ordinary family known as The David's. The David's household consists of merely a husband and wife (Mr and Mrs David's), with Mr David's working as a railway station engineer and Mrs David's working as a Trader in a small city market. Mrs David had been pregnant for nearly 9 months (i.e. it was her due month), and she went to the market as usual till she became engulfed in labor pains. She was taken down to the nearest hospital since she was in excruciating pain.
In the hospital, the doctor on duty is not available and has been summoned, it is his launch time, so he went on launch to eat. Mrs David, who was still in pain after a long day at work, was given a pain reliever by the nurses on duty to help her feel better before the doctor arrived.
The doctor's arrival was so brief that he had to leave his laugh behind to attend to the patients in the ward; Mrs David was the first to be seen because the pain couldn't be suppressed any longer by the pain killer; the doctor was fortunately a friend of Mr David's, so Mrs David's case was a unique case to him.
Mrs David was instructed to push hard during the conceiving process because it was her first time and she had never given birth before, so she pushed the nearest trolley to her; (The doctor grinned without anybody knowing) and explained briefly what he meant by push. Mrs David gave birth to a healthy baby boy after a few minutes of ups and downs from the nurses and physicians in the room. However, the infant (Gomis) was born with one leg longer than the other(handicap), which was unpleasant for the family (The David’s).
It was a good news to be broken to the child's father (Mr. David's) until he was told that the child was born handicapped; he felt glad at first and then sad; he felt happy because the child was born and the mother was still living, but he was unhappy because the child was crippled (what can the poor man do). After the new was delivered to Mr David, he followed the doctor to his office for further questions. When he arrived, he asked the doctor if this could be cured or worked on, to which the doctor replied in the negative. Mr. David's disappointment was palpable, but he had no choice but to accept it as fate.
(A day of happiness was going to be a bad day in Mr David's family), Mrs David's was discharged after days in the hospital, she wasn't happy either, but she was talked to by her husband and family, because she was so sad that she cried all days in the hospital and later had complications after birth, Gomes on his own as a child who doesn't know what it's like in the world will cry along side his mother in the hospital, It's a disgrace to the community that all of David's family's neighbors had to part ways with them because they gave birth to an imbecile; most families cut ties with them because none of their family members had given birth to an imbecile; criticism went on and on as days passed; gomis and his parents were left alone and not treated as well as they had been in the community; this led to the David's family's relocation from the community. From Rio Branco in Brazil to Rosario in Argentina.
As we all know, relocation brings many changes to the family, such as a change in environment, a change in workplace, and so on. However, Mr David's had to apply for a transfer at his place of work while Mrs David's remained at home to care for the baby. Filing a transfer at MR David's place of work wasn't as easy as it seemed, and he had to wait months before the transfer could be approved, leaving Mr David jobless for months and Mrs David's
As months passed and much had happened in the David's family, including the husband and wife being jobless and left with nothing to eat, including the child (gomis) who was only a month old in the city of Rosario Argentina, Mr David's returned to Rio Branco Brazil to seek assistance from old friends, some of whom were able to help and others who were not. Mr. David's journey back to Rosario, Argentina, with the little money he could scrape together to feed his family until he was informed at work that his application had been granted and that he could start working at his new job the following week. This is yet another piece of excellent news to the David’s family.
Mr. David awoke early the following week, as he should have, to get ready for work, exactly like Mrs. David, who was also up early to prepare the food that her husband would take to work that morning. They appear to be having a new joyful life, as they should if the child had been born fit! Hmmm
