"Mr. Sanders, wait!" A woman stumbled over Bryan's hurried steps and was forced to stop as she stood before him.
"What is it again, Tamara?"
"I'm sorry, sir. But Mr. Hashimoto wants to see you right now."
"Tsk! Tell him I can't see him right now. I have more important business to attend to."
"But, sir—"
"Tamara, just do what I say. I'm your boss, and I don't take no for an answer. Don't fall for any of his threats because I'll deal with him later."
Bryan left his assistant alone while he rushed to the parking lot and drove like a maniac.
He did not understand why he should care about the condition of the woman who had broken his heart. Maybe it wasn't Shienna he cared about right now, but the baby Shienna was carrying and everything that happened today made him unable to stop thinking about her.
Bryan tried to call Shienna's cell phone, but it only connected to voicemail, making him even more anxious.
"Where did you go, brat?" muttered Bryan as he continued to pick up speed.
When they arrived at Shienna's favorite café, Bryan slammed on the brakes and rushed inside to find his wife's whereabouts, ignoring several pairs of eyes watching him. He was too sure that Shienna probably had an appointment with her best friend because there was no way she would be traveling alone.
During this time, Jennifer was the assistant who was always available whenever Shienna needed her. Elea's existence, although she had done an excellent job, would certainly not compare to Jennifer's.
"Hello, Ed! Get some people to trace around Eastonville to find my wife. That recalcitrant woman is causing trouble again!"
"Yes, sir. But, just now, some of the project assistants informed me that Mr. Hashimoto doesn't want to accept any form of rejection. He wants you to agree to cooperate in his project."
"Damn it!" Bryan swore irritably. "Can't that man stop making trouble? Set up a meeting with him! I'll make sure he pays the price for wasting my time. For now, let's focus on my wife."
"Yes, sir. I will carry out your orders."
Bryan gave no reaction to his men's reply but instead drove at full speed to Jennifer's residence, which he was sure Shienna would visit.
But, still, nothing came of it.
"I even waited for her since earlier, and she didn't give me any news. Her phone is off, and I'm getting frustrated wondering where she is," Jennifer replied, making Bryan even more agitated.
There was no way anyone could have any ill intentions towards her. Despite her reputation for being annoying, Shienna never had any enemies. At least that's what he knew from following news about her since she became an idol. That's why Bryan knows so much about his wife.
"Is there someone who might hate her that much?" Bryan asked, intent on finding out if his wayward wife was enjoying herself, running away, or if someone was out to get her.
"Why would you think that she would have enemies? You know, Shienna is the most ignorant musician I know. She never cares about other people's business, never commenting whenever anyone asks about celebrities A, B, or anyone else!" Jennifer sounded irritated. "If I may answer your pointless question, there's one person who hates Shienna that much."
"Who?"
"Your girlfriend, Selena!"
Bryan's jaw tightened as he heard Jennifer's statement that seemed to accuse the woman he knew so well of not hurting others, although sometimes she would act like she was hurting the most, but not by kidnapping.
"You better start being careful about what you say, Jennie! You may be Shienna's best friend, but that doesn't mean you can accuse others for no reason to defend your best friend!"
"Oh, whatever if you don't believe me. Just go and ask her," Jennifer said with a flash of hatred in her eyes. She knew precisely how Selena had acted when she and Shienna had met for the first time. And Bryan seemed to be defending her. "If you want to get accurate evidence, don't use feelings. Don't show you're so pathetic because you want to get back at Shienna for what she did to you, Bryan."
Bryan was silent as if he had been caught red-handed this time. Jennifer certainly knew many things because besides being Shienna's assistant, she was Shienna's closest friend since childhood. It was only natural that Bryan now felt intimidated by her words.
For the first time, Bryan could not answer Jennifer's words but quickly left the girl's apartment and drove to the place where he should ask. As Jennifer had said, it wouldn't hurt if he tried to investigate Shienna's whereabouts by going to someone who might have something to do with it all.

"Bryan? Is there a problem that you came here after so long?" asked Selena, who was surprised by the arrival of her ex-boyfriend after a long absence.
"Don't pretend not to know, Selena. Where's Shienna?"
"What? Are you seriously asking me about her?" Selena's pair of gray irises suddenly looked dewy. "Has someone incited you to accuse me of hiding your fake wife?"
"I'm not in the mood to discuss anything else. I'm just asking, where is Shienna?"
Selena gave Bryan a hurt look, but nothing escaped her lips. She seemed to be trying to keep her tears from falling down her cheeks.
Seeing Selena's melancholy reaction, Bryan could not continue questioning other than trying to calm his emotions first. He knew Selena well. Her demeanor this time had not changed since he first knew her. She was a gentle and sad woman.
"Well, I'm sorry. I'm just slightly panicked that I can't find my wife anywhere." Bryan sighed and rubbed his face and hair roughly. His wayward wife was already frustrated him so much.
Selena, who seemed to be calming down, came over and stroked Bryan's arm to calm him down.
"You can come in and rest first if you like. I made your favorite apple pie. I don't understand why today I want to do the things we used to do. I didn't realize we were on the same page. You're standing before me now," she said with the shyness of the Selena Bryan knew.
"Selena, I—"
"Bryan, please... Just as a friend, is that too much for you?"
Bryan finally relented and nodded and followed Selena's lead, going inside and sitting quietly. The atmosphere at the place was still the same as before.
"I still can't believe you're here. Just like the last time you came. Two months ago, if I'm not mistaken, do you remember?"
How could Bryan forget? That night, he and Selena made love, and before he could finish, his desire had already subsided. If he could admit it, he would be embarrassed to remember.
"I don't want to remember that."
"Are you ashamed?" Selena touched Bryan's arm again. "I'm fine, Bryan. I never thought badly of you. You were dealing with some pretty complicated business with that Japanese guy. And you probably needed some time alone."
Bryan didn't answer, nor did he realize that Selena's face was getting closer to his. In seconds, their lips met, and time seemed to stop momentarily.
Bryan didn't want to get lost in Selena's seduction. His head was now filled with other things that made him almost crazy. He then pushed Selena's body slowly until he could look at her.
"I didn't come here for this."
"But I knew you wanted me. I told you it's fine, I no longer remember it. I also know you don't love that woman. I'm still yours, Bryan. Whenever you want me, I will give myself to you."
Bryan shook his head slowly, then stood and momentarily looked at Selena. He didn't know what feelings were troubling him at this time. However, it was clear that this was not his purpose in meeting Selena.
"If you don't know where Shienna is, I guess I'd better go and continue my search."
"Bryan!" called Selena when the well-built man turned around and was ready to leave. "Isn't that woman used to having fun? No matter who she marries, Shienna will still do what she likes. Why are you so naive? I know she is your former lover, now your wife, but that doesn't mean you have any responsibility for her, does it?"
Selena was about to continue her sentence, as was Bryan, who was ready to refute, but the cell phone ringing broke the tension surrounding the two. Bryan quickly takes the call and is wide-eyed in disbelief when he hears what the caller has to say.
He hurried away, ignoring Selena, who kept calling his name. The problem this time was more important than anything else.
