Pulling the car to a halt, Callie looks ahead of her which held nothing but the mansion of her parents. She closes her eyes and breathes out; " It's going to be fine " Callie murmured to herself. Opening her eyes, She climbed out of the car and the guard closed the door. Walking in, There they were, Her humble parents wining and dining, She clears her throat, and her presence was noticed. " Princess, How was the ride? " Chris, stepfather asked, and she passed him a smile " Very good, thanks Chris, " Callie said, hugging him. Callie diverted her gaze to her mother who was also standing waiting for a hug, But Callie knew she couldn't do that. She already failed her as a mother; Callie walked past and went to sit on a couch. Ellen swallowed, heartbroken but didn't let it show, She faked a smile and then turned to look at her daughter. " I see you are not with your boyfriend or fiancé," Ellen said and Callie frowned " He's busy with work," Callie said but Ellen wasn't buying that " You're telling me your boyfriend couldn't honor you a day of his life to meet your parents? " " Why are you doing this? " " Are you taunting me or what? " Callie added and Ellen looked from her husband to her daughter, confused " Of Course not. Why would I do such a thing? I only want what's best for you " " What's best for me? What's best for me is selling me off to a total stranger. " " No darling, We're not selling you out, We – " " You what then? Because I'm pretty sure my dad wouldn't have agreed to this " Callie yelled and Ellen was taken aback " Callie, Calm down," Chris said, and she shakes her head in disapproval " No, I won't, She wants to sell me off to someone and you won't do anything about it? " " I'm your mother, why would I sell you off? We have enough money, Why the hell will I sell my daughter? " Ellen asked, her voice raising as well. " No, I'm starting to wonder if I'm even your daughter, You're not selling me off? Then what is this called? " " It's for your benefit Callie and mostly for the family as well. Do you have any idea how popular, Famous, and wealthy you will be? Getting married to Rodriguez will add to our fame and theirs as well, So darling, we're not selling you out " Ellen says trying to convince her daughter who just shook her head, not believing her mother said that to her face. " You're a selfish b***h mother! " Callie spat standing to her feet, Staring daggers at Ellen, who looked at her bemused by her sudden outburst. " Did you just call me a b***h? " Ellen muttered, her voice small. " Yes, I just did… What will you do? Slap me? Or beat me up like I'm still 14? " Callie said, Ellen swallowed both the urge to tear her daughter apart and the hurt she was feeling deep down. Chris, Ellen's stepfather, rubbed his forehead knowing it wasn't going well for both of them and he had no right to intervene. If Only Ellen had let him handle the situation, If only Ellen had allowed him to talk to her. The two didn't get along, but Ellen didn't have a choice either, Time wasn't on her side anymore. " Callie " Chris called standing up to get into the scene but Callie raised her hand, stopping him from coming any further. " Don't you dare mention my name, Chris?" Callie said and he sighs, Ellen swallowed " You both planned this, didn't you ?? You planned to sell me out " Callie said and he shook his head " No, It's not what you thi- " Chris tried to say " Of all people, I thought we were a little bit close? Why would you support her in this ??" Callie asked, feeling bitter. Ellen looked at her " Callie – " Ellen tried to call " You know what? This was a mistake. I just realized that you're in no position to control me, you're in no position to control my life! " Callie said standing up to her feet, Just as she was about to walk away, Ellen held her by the arm, pulling her back. " Let go of me!! " Callie half yelled but Ellen held her tight " Ellen? " Chris tried to caution " You know what? Maybe you aren't my daughter after all. Cause the girl I know will listen to me " Ellen said and Callie blinked rapidly, feeling her break into a thousand pieces. " But you will do what I say because you don't have a choice, The Rodriguez will be here soon and you will cooperate " Ellen snapped and Callie swallowed. " No. I won't " Callie muttered her voice barely heard " Yes, you will !" ELLEN deadpanned. " NO! I won- " Just as Callie was about to complete, Footsteps were heard. " Mr. and Mrs. Jennings, I hope we're not late, " A man’s voice came from behind, causing them to turn their gaze in that direction. Quickly, Ellen released Callie and with a smile, She walked further. "You are just right in time, Meet my husband," Ellen says, introducing Chris who exchanged pleasantries with both parents, Callie looked at the Rodriguez and swallowed knowing there was no way she could get out anymore. " I don't see your son, Isn't he - " Ellen's statement was cut short as a young man stepped in. " Can we get this over with? I have better things to do " He said, Ellen raised her brow and Callie blinked, Looking at him. " I beg your pardon? " Ellen uttered. " No. Hell No !! " Callie said and everyone gazes at her " Callie, keep qu- " Ellen tried to say " Hell No! Even if I am to get married to a punk, At Least not to this Arrogant bastard! " Callie blurted and everyone gazed at her, their gazes questioning. " Excuse me? " Daisy, Mrs Rodriguez said and Callie frowned, her gaze fixated on him. Damien smirked, his gaze pinned on her where she stood.
