WHAT DOES LOVE DO🤨

Who can answer that one question on what love is really about, a fickle emotion that gets it host drunk and dizzy on its euphoria, but when it wears off it leaves the feeling of emptiness and drain behind, or a life booster that never fades away lasting forever and staying true to it's cause. Whatever it might be that is something that is not found yet. It is believe that love provides answer to all question asked but the real question of what it does is left unanswered. The endless curiosity and eagerness on love flows with no boundary, leading to different school of thought been established on this word LOVE. When it seems all to it has been figured out, another side of it surface making you wonder just how deep can love go and to what extent has it been explored by many. One thing that is sure is that, despite the different definition attached to love, it's influence is strong and sure cause a lot of things to happen. In the quest of looking for the true, perfect love, so many effects have been made in people lives, views have been changes, options evaluated again which brings about a very important question what does love do. is it worth all the sacrifices, pain and confusion that comes with it, what does love give back for all of those things it takes, for all the expectations held in what measure are they meet. SOPHIE POV Sophie sat on the couch staring at the door with so much intensity that could almost burn a hole through the door, but that did not in anyway make the door budge a bit. After a while she looked at her cell phone hoping that the call she was waiting for would come through right that second but after few minutes nothing changed, the screen of the cellphone was as blank as ever before and there is no indication that the door would be opened anytime soon by anybody. She sigh disappointed and drained of any expectations, rubbing her head she, stood up to look up at the picture that was hanged up on the wall of the living room, the man in the picture was looking so calm, warm and gentle, his eyes were squinted a bit making it look like he was smiling but the straight line of his lips counter that effect making him look like a domineering alpha male but rather than scary his overall posture gives a feeling of warmth, making it perfect. And that was something that she had known him for when they had just started their love, he was a man that made her feel secured, warm, loved and happy. Her mouth curved upward in smile has she remembered how things were so beautiful and perfect when they had just started out on their love journey how he had seem like the perfect man, her prince charming and the man that will forever make her at peace but right now that illusion has been shattered and broken into pieces. What was once a safe harbor has now become a haunting field of memories. The wholesome love once shared now a longing bit of emotions. Without her control tears started falling from Sophie eyes has she averted her eyes from the picture that is now just the representation of what she once had but now no more. This was the 3rd night in a row that Ben would not be coming home in a week and he barely gave any reason for that, neither did he call to inform her of what might been happening and when she tried calling, he ignored her calls and upon persisting because she was worried, he finally picked up the call but just to shout at her for been such a nag and attention seeker. Words that cut deeper than sword constantly leaving her hurt. She wondered what her offences was in loving him, why had he changed suddenly after telling and showing her love, why is his love now causing her pain and heartache rather than the comfort and joy that what was promised. Is this what love really does. Sophie wondered has she pace the living room restlessly and when she noticed the time is past midnight she finally resigned to the fact that Ben would not be coming home that night like he had been doing. She sunk into the couch staring into blank space, and wonder just what went wrong in loving someone. It was morning already but Sophie was still lying still on the bed having no motivation or strength to get up and move around, she turned her head towards the window and saw the day was bright and clear a big contrast to how previous days have been due to the rainy season but the allure of the beautiful day is still not helping her get to her feet, she feels tired and worn out physically and mentally. After waiting so long for Ben last night she had come up to the bedroom when staying in the living room was becoming suffocating but nothing really changed much she just laid on the bed awake, pondering on how their everything came to this. She can still remember when she was so bright, bubbly, energetic and happy believing that the world is her canvas and there is absolutely nothing she can't draw with it, that was when she was so hopeful and egarley awaiting love , when she would meet her prince charming and live in her fairytale but right now those memories have faded away and have become a thing of the past. she is now a shadow of herself hope dashed, the love she has so wished for to make her happy is now hurting and destroying her everyday. For all her sacrifices what she has received in return is pain. Tears flow down her check as she thought about everything, then suddenly she heard the sound of the door opening in the living room she jolted up and sat right on the bed.Her body that was feeling lifeless few seconds ago was now totally charged up with her heart beating twice it's rate in her chest. She wanted to rush out of the room but sat still, first wanting to be sure of what she heard hoping that more sound will follow to confirm what she heard initially which would indicate that Ben is now back home . Although she know, that she should not be so happy with his arrival after how he had treated her but she can't help the giddiness that she is feeling. Few seconds later she heard his footsteps coming towards the room and she nervously stared at the door waiting for him to enter, hope rising in her heart that maybe this time would be different and rather than being aloof, dismissive and rude, he would apologize for his behavior and explain why he did not come home for the past days, at first she would try to act tough just to show him how much he had hurt her, then he will gently wrap her around his arms and draw her closer to his chest just to make her feel better apologizing and saying lovely things to her expressing his love, and after a while she would relent and finally melt into those arms that is wrapped securely around her, lay her head on his chest feeling that warmth she had missed for such a long time now she would complain about everything that she is feeling and he would remorsefully pacify her gently caressing her body like he always does, first he will start from her arms and slowly work his way to her belly, slowly circling her belly button like he is playing a musical instrument then his other hand will be rubbing her back making her feel a thousand of sensation at the same time and when she look into his eyes the love, gentleness and affection would be there just like when they first met and she would smile brightly because he would assure her that everything would be fine from now on and things will go back to how they were before.
