Alistair sat in his apartment, the city skyline stretching before him. The script for his latest role lay abandoned on the coffee table, forgotten in favor of the thoughts swirling in his mind. No matter how hard he tried to focus, one name kept surfacing—Sam. The small girl had left a mark on him he couldn't ignore. Her laughter, her resilience, and the way she had clung to him over the holidays played in his mind like an unending loop.
