Riley sat on the living room floor, gently rocking baby Sam in her lap as Alistair flipped through a magazine absently. The room was quiet, save for Sam's occasional babbles and the soft hum of the city outside. But beneath the surface of their serene domestic scene, an unspoken tension lingered between them. Both of them were thinking the same thing but hadn't yet found the courage to say it aloud. "Ali," Riley finally broke the silence, her voice low and caring.
