Homecoming

Darius rushed out of Lizzie's apartment. He made sure no one was watching and opened his wings and flew into the dark sky, the wind was getting chilly and he had a long way home, but he decided it was best to go right away as he tried to calm down his boiling blood. The long flight was nothing to him, but he still wanted to sleep before he could see his father, the actual clan leader, and deal with everything. The Dragonborn were descendants of the Dragons, majestic creatures that once lived among humans and, due to war and endless killing, they went extinct, leaving the Dragonborn blood to their descendants, who preferred to live outside the human world and its rules. There were clans that specialized in each type of magic. The Fire clan specialized in fire magic even though they could use other magic, but when using fire magic they were much more fierce, and the same could be said of each clan that had its own secret techniques and magic. After some hours of flying, the sun was beginning to show up, the view wasn't from cities down below, he could see lot's of trees, birds, animals and grass. He couldn't wait to get some rest, but clearly his father didn't think the same, Aramis was waiting alongside some clan fighters, probably his guards, for his arrival at the border of the clan grounds. Darius sped up and landed just before them, in the greenest grass he could ever remember, the place was fully preserved and rarely any humans came near. -Welcome Darius, my son. - His father smiled and opened his arms for a hug. -Thanks father, it's good to see you too... I feel a bit tired. I wish I could sleep before we talk. -Oh don't worry, it won't take long... As you know, you are the strongest heir of any clan, and the most desired too. - Aramis was so proud of his young boy, even though he was such a rebel to live in the human world. -I know, but I don't intend to fight for a female right now - His father laughed. -Yes, they are fighting for you my lad. -WHAT? - Darius couldn't believe what he was being told. -The heir of the earth clan is arranging a tournament so we can see which female dragonborn is worthy of you. -Father, this doesn't exist. The males fight for females, not the other way around. And I don't want it! I won't accept any proposals whatsoever. -What are you talking about, Darius? Akeela, the heir of the earth clan is a great dragonborn and gorgeous too. -Well, I'm not into any of them. And I won't. -You found yourself in love with a human girl? - Aramis turned serious as he looked at his son. -Well, I think it's more than... -The imprinting story again? You really think you could be the chosen one of the legend to have an imprinting and with this special human bring the dragons back to life? Do you know how many years have passed since the dragons disappeared? More than a millennia! - I couldn't care less about the chosen one and the legend, I just can't resist her scent, her presence, her touch... -Humans don't live long like us. -I can change her, you know it's possible. -You are going crazy, there hasn't been a changed dragonborn in thousands of years son. -Please, give me some time, I'm so close to her, if all my efforts go to waste, I'll accept this damn marriage. -Well, Akeela is at our place. You go say that to her and postpone her beloved tournament. -Argh... Persistent girl... *~*~*~* Darius, Aramis and their guards opened their wings and went to the Fire palace. The palace was placed on the middle of the clan city, so they could see everything and protect everyone. The Fire clan was known to be made of the greatest warriors and mages, no force or clan could equal the Fire clan. -Darius! It's so good to finally see you again! -Akeela, a young yellow-haired dragonborn rushed to his side. She was tall, but still smaller than Darius. They were about the same age and she was known to be a fierce warrior too. -Thanks Akeela. - He forced a smile. -So have you heard of my tournament? -Yeah, about that... I have to insist that you postpone it. I can't really marry nor choose a female right now. It's not the best moment for me. -What are you talking about? - She frowned - Is your human life more important than the future of the clans? -About your clan, you can always find another dragonborn to continue your lineage, as for ours. It's up to us to be concerned. -What are you saying? I'm not worthy of you?? - Darius could see the rage coming to her face, she was always quick to get angry. -Akeela, I just have something more important going on and if I ever intend to find a female, then I'll see about it. -Is it about a human girl? Are you really that stupid? -I ask that you remember that you are at my house and any insults won't be tolerated any longer. - It was Darius turn to get serious. -You'll regret it, Darius, you'll see! - And so Akeela rushed out of the room clearly upset.
