Vivaan was a brilliant child, which he got from his mother Janaki Sinha. Rajdev Sinha, Vivaan’s father, was a gangster from Dharavi, Mumbai. He used to commit crimes for political leaders. Few years later he knew he has to do something big in order to keep himself safe and alive. Janaki’s father was then president of a major political party. Rajdev took his chance and trapped Janaki in his love. She blindly trust him and married Rajdev. It was only after Vivaan’s birth Janaki knew the real motive of Rajdev, but it was too late. Rajdev had never been with Janaki after Vivaan was born. Rajdev was always there for his son and he loved him so much. Since Vivaan was intelligent, he knew something was wrong between his parents and never asked them about it. But he was sad when he saw his friends talking about how their parents together would take them to many places. Vivaan has travelled so many places mostly with his father. Vivaan and Aryan were classmates from 5th grade onwards. Vivaan was a spoil brat kid, but teachers liked him because he was first in studies and was afraid of his father. Aryan was teachers favourite because he was well disciplined and was all rounder in sports and studies. Well Aryan couldn’t get the top spot in science and math, because it was Vivaan who would top in these subjects. Due this there was a stiff competition between them. Problems between them intensified when Vivaan’s girlfriend ditched him to be with Aryan in 7th grade.  Vivaan’s POV In everybody’s eyes, I am a person who lives a royal life. It was indeed true, but only I knew how lonely I was when I am at home. Being the only child around a big house and with a snap of my finger everything I wish would be in front of me. The only thing I missed was another kid or siblings with whom I can play and share my secrets. Mum was the only person in the whole mansion who was my playmate, mentor and confidante. She would play with me and would allow me to play with our maid Savita’s son Dhruv when dad was not at home. It didn’t last long when one day dad came home unannounced and saw me playing with Dhruv. He fired Savita and my mum was punished for letting me play with kids of our servants. This happened when I was 9 years old.  He later took me to his friend’s house where I met Sanjay and Abhinav. We became best buddies and partners in crime. When we joined the school in Santacruz, our ultimate goal was to be the most popular g**g in the school and we succeeded to an extent, till Aryan and his g**g started to gain more attention than us. We tried our best to beat them and gain an upper hand. My ego was satisfied when I knew Aryan couldn’t beat me in math and science exam. But it also came to and end when we were in 8th grade. He started to get more marks than me in science and math. I was puzzled at first and then started to investigate how Aryan  suddenly became brilliant in these subjects. I found out it was his younger sister who was helping him to gain more marks. I developed a hatred towards Aryan and his sister. I never noticed her till I was in 10th grade, when I knew she was double promoted to 8th grade from 6th grade. I kept an eye on her and knew her name was Amelia. I found that she was dusky unlike her brother and she was always seen with boys. Later I knew they were Aryan’s younger brother and cousins.  I was feeling jealous because unlike me they were together every time. Seeing Amelia, I thought to teach Aryan a lesson by messing with his sister. I told my plan to Sanjay and Abhinav and they agreed to help me. It was only when we got into the plan, we realised, our prey was well protected by her brothers. It was near impossible to get close to her without any of her brothers interfering. We also learned she never had a boyfriend. Either she or her brothers had manhandled two, three boys who tried to get close to her. Our plan to collect more information about her also came to a dead end because nobody knew anything special about her. She only has one best girlfriend Arya. One day I was with dad  to attend a function, when our car broke down in the middle of the road. Dad told the driver to stop someone and ask to hire a mechanic since there’s been no network coverage for our phone. The driver did so and when I saw the person my eyes popped out. It was Amelia, she was wearing a baby pink lehenga. It was first time I saw her wearing a girl attire. Even in that dress she showed only a little skin. Only her face and arms were visible. She didn’t see me and directly went near the hood of the car. I saw she was doing something there and few minutes later she came out and I heard her saying to the driver  Amelia: “Your Saab (Master) is lucky. Somebody tried to cut the brake cable, but had to abort it suddenly and in the rush they accidentally ripped the battery’s alternator. I saw a scratch on the brake cable. I know a mechanic.” A few minutes later I saw her talking to someone on the phone. “Dada, bring a new alternator of BMW A1 and charge the battery.” I knew she was talking to the mechanic. One thing struck me was she was an expert on cars and quickly identified the fault. I saw my dad was watching all this silently. She excused herself and went to sit on the bike she came. I was feeling uneasy seeing the person she was with. It was Rahul my classmate and Aryan’s best friend. I didn’t know why couldn’t bear the sight of her with another man.  Rajdev: “Gaurav, Inquire what the girl said was true. If so we must find out who tried to sabotage this trip. Also find out the whereabouts of this girl.” Me: “Dad, her name is Amelia. She is the younger sister of my classmate Aryan and she is studying in my school.”  Rajdev: “If she said is the truth, then she is really brilliant.” Me: “Dad her father is a police officer.” Hearing that part dad became silent. The mechanic came and my dad asked him the problem of the car. He also said the same things Amelia told earlier. Later dad found the culprit and the person behind him. The person who tried to ruin our car didn’t see the sunset or sunrise from then onwards. For the person who sent him it was Harshit, one of the prominent leaders of dad’s political party. Dad played a big game by giving the evidence of a previous crime of Harshit in which he was acquitted due to lack of proper evidence. Harshit was put behind bars. I ignored her for the time being, until I saw her during our graduation ceremony. I was sitting among my fellow classmates when I saw her and literally I forgot to breathe for a few moments. Amelia was with her family to attend her brother Aryan’s graduation ceremony. She was wearing a peach saree with an off white border and embroidery works on it. It suited her very well. As usual, only 1/4 th of her hands and face was visible to n***d eyes.  My mind wasn’t working properly after seeing her. I regretted not being able to woo her early. After school I joined an engineering college in Sion, Mumbai. Only Rahul and Abhinav was the familiar ones there with me in this new campus. Rahul took electronics, Abhinav took computer science and I took Information Technology. In the third semester, my mini project was selected by an international IT firm and they implemented the project in their next venture. I became the star of our campus. It was when I was in fifth semester I saw a familiar face among the newcomers. I couldn’t believe in my eyes and luck. Finally, I will succeed in my plan.
