The air in the packhouse was suffocating. The tension thickened with every step I took towards the Alpha’s office. Alpha Bane was a towering presence, a force of nature, but this was something no one could have prepared for. For something this enormous—this treacherous—to be brewing under our noses was enough to make even the most hardened warrior second-guess everything they knew about loyalty.
