Alice's POV The wind howled through the trees, biting at my fur as I ran, Koda securely on my back. My legs burned, but there was no room for exhaustion. I had to get him back to Shadow Haven, had to keep him safe. I could hear the rogues behind us, closing in, their growls sharpening in the distance. We were almost there—just a little more, and I’d be at the border, back where the pack could protect us. But the sounds of pursuit were growing louder. They weren’t giving up, and I could feel them closing in, too many for me to handle on my own.
