A rough start to the day
*cough cough* Your eyes are heavy and you feel the heat bearing down on you. It takes some effort but you manage to right yourself a little bit and look around a little. The heat stings your eyes but you manage to see what you think is a cave entrance. Your hands burn from the heat as you crawl down into the narrow cave to escape the damning heat. After a time the heat that was boiling me inside my skin finally calms and I can come to my senses. I feel moisture evaporating out the mouth of the cave. Inside the cave and I can't see more than a few feet into its depths. I look around the entrance and find a few small animal bones. It looks like they were not able to find enough food or water out here to survive. Poor creatures, small rodents of some kind decimated and crispy from the heat over time litter the mouth of the cave. It's not much but maybe they can be useful for something later. Taking a moment to look around the cave a bit more praying to whoever will listen that I'll find something to help my plight, I've come across some old rags. Pulling on the rags results in several small insects squirming out of them. I smash a few of them instinctively. A rotten smell assaults my senses as the insides of the insects become more exposed. These creatures may feed upon the dead and are not something that should be eaten I'm willing to bet, but I'm desperate. I pick up the three squished bugs and sit them near the mouth of the cave hoping they will attract something better to eat. After some time I peer into the distance and do not see anything of significance, but decide to search the area anyways and hope for some luck. Stepping out of the cave, the heat blasts my face, causing me to stumble for a moment and pause to regain my bearing. Stumbling across the sand hoping for anything of value, I stub my toe on something with a high pitched thud. Looking down at my bare feet I have stumbled upon a glass bottle of some sort. It appears to be empty. Starting to dig it out dig it out of the sand, it appears to be a clear glass wine bottle. The cork is in the bottle, and it appears there is some sort of paper inside. Staring at the prize in front of me, I feel a bit less dead inside this bottle providing a bit of hope that I did not expect to have, knowing that should I find anything to drink I now have a place to store it. Before the heat starts to get to me I search around this area in hopes of finding something else of value, but to no avail. Not wanting to tempt fate I travel back to the cave with my new 'treasure'.
