13 Scott Langford yanked the cabbage out of the raised planter, adding it to the six he had previously pulled up. They were huge specimens that the owner, a local woman in her late sixties, could be proud of. “These really are beauties, Mrs Beckwith. The biggest I’ve seen in years.” His knees hurt from leaning on them for so long. With a groan, he got to his feet with a little help from the senior lady. “Thanks.
