Isla Del Sillens

The three pulled the boat towards the shallow water so that the waves would not carry it away. They headed towards the island on foot. They saw trees and plants that they have never seen before. They checked the map and tried to determine which island they were on but they were not sure which they were. They began searching for people on the island. They entered the dense vegetation that started beyond the beach.                  The forest had the strangest of sounds. A lot of animals they have never seen before were there. They also saw flowers whose colors and forms were new to them. They made their way deeper into the forest, where they started encountering creatures of darkness. These creatures were similar to the carnivorous plant that Myles and Viethra once encountered, but the ones on the island were larger and had more thorns and spikes.                  Viethra’s spells were futile against these creatures. Not one of her nature element spells dealt any damage. She could only heal any damage or injury incurred by the two. Though Viethra was of no help, the other two’s melee skills made it possible for them to defeat every opponent easily. Mae would usually s***h and slice enemies before they could touch her. Myles, however, even after receiving training from the sword art school, he still misses often.                  They stopped for a while to eat lunch. During that break, Myles asked Mae for some pointers on handling the sword. Mae laughed and asked Myles what he learned from Mac. Myles answered Mae’s question easily and perfectly. However, his response made Mae laugh more.                  “That is your problem,” Mae told him. “You think too much. The sword is an extension of yourself. You don’t need to think about anything because it is an extension of you. Just let the moment take over your body and let the sword guide you to your target.”                  “That sounds difficult,” Myles replied. “Could you teach me how to do it?”                  “I’m afraid I can’t teach you anything,” Mae answered. “I can help you practice, but I can’t teach you. You have to discover that for yourself.”                  Their break was ended when suddenly a gigantic serpent was crawling swiftly towards them. It was very huge that its very sight intimidated them. They dared not draw their swords but ran away from it. They ran and ran and ran, but the serpent was still in pursuit. Suddenly, they encountered another humongous serpent. They were no longer able to escape. Two giant serpents one in their front and one behind, there was no other choice but for them to defeat the serpents.                  Mae took the front while Myles took care of the rear. Viethra cast Nature Bind at the two serpents but their slender bodies made it impossible for them to be crushed. She was once again in a predicament of not being able to cast her most useful spells.                  The rear serpent struck Myles but he was able to dodge on time. He countered and tried to cut off its head but the serpent was nimble enough to avoid his s***h. This time the serpent spewed poison at Myles, he was able to dodge but the venom caught his left arm. Viethra cast Nature Embrace at him and the wound was healed. However, Myles felt nauseous, he hyperventilated and started to sweat a lot. Viethra thought that Myles was poisoned and so opened a scroll from her rucksack and began enchanting words. A flower suddenly grew in front of Myles and pollen flew towards him. Myles instantly felt all of the symptoms disappear.                  Meanwhile, in the front, Mae was on par with the serpent in terms of speed and cunning. Whenever Mae tried to s***h the serpent’s body, it would move back and Mae would miss. Whenever the serpent also strikes, Mae would be able to dodge it. The serpent also spewed poison at her but she was able to dodge them all. Again and again, their fight ended in misses.                  Myles was now starting to get tired from his fight with the serpent. The serpent hit him again and again and nearly crushed him its powerful tail. The serpent spewed more poison and this time it directly hit Myles. Viethra chanted her spell again but the poison in Myles’ body was too strong. Myles lay on the ground defenseless while the serpent positioned itself waiting to strike. It struck Myles but Viethra was quick enough to use Nature Render and managed to get Myles out of the way.                  With the rear compromised, they were now mere prey for the two serpents. Mae got distracted with the situation of the rear causing the serpent to land a direct tail whip at her. She was thrown back and fell unconscious. With Myles incapable of fighting and Mae unconscious, it was up to Viethra to defend against two serpents. She excessively used her spells, simultaneously casting them one after another. The serpents, however, were impervious of her spells. Her Nature Bind, Vine Bind, and Nature Render spells were futile to the serpents’ slender bodies.                  Eventually, she felt fatigued from all of her spell casting. In a final attempt to fend off the two serpents, she used Nature Render to scare them, but her efforts were in vain. She eventually collapsed. Suddenly, she heard footsteps and after a while, the serpents shrieked in pain. She wasn’t able to see the faces of the souls who aided them but heard voices. She soon fell unconscious succumbing to slumber.                  Their rescuers defeated the serpents and took them to where they resided. One wielded a trident while others held harps. They took them to a village on the opposite end of the island. The village rests by the pristine waters of a lagoon close to the beach.                  Viethra suddenly woke up. She saw a woman wearing clothes similar to the merpeople clothes she saw. Without any hesitation, she looked for her staff and cast a spell. However, the woman whom she saw sang a song and she suddenly felt all of her neuroticism fade away.                  “Where am I?” Viethra asked after the woman finished singing.                  “You are in our village, here on Isla Del Sillens,” the woman answered. “We rescued you from the two serpents.”                  “I had two companions, where are they?”                  “The poisoned one is being healed in the lagoon while the other one rests in the other hut.”                  “Are you a mermaid?”                  “I am a mermaid. This is a merpeople village, but we do not wish to harm humans.”                  “Don’t worry, I’m not human.” Viethra removed her hood and showed her, her ears. “I also have no intention to leak the location of your village.”                  “We know,” the mermaid replied. “The only human is the other girl. You and that boy are not human.”                  “My name is Viethra. I thank you for saving us.”                  “I am Sera. I must tell others about your awakening.”                  “I must go with you.”                  The two left the hut and out outside Viethra saw a beautiful village resting on the delta of a majestic clear blue lagoon. In the middle of the lagoon, she saw Myles stripped of all his armor and upper clothes surrounded by three mermaids with tails extending their arms. She called Myles but Sera stopped her saying that the three mermaids were doing all they could to remove the poison from his body.                  Sera showed Viethra to the rest of the village and to the people who rescued them. Sera along with Selena and Maisur rescued them. Sera especially told Viethra that it was Selena who heard them. Viethra thanked Selena very much. They suddenly heard sounds from a certain hut that drew their attention.                  “Perhaps your other companion is awake now,” Selena said. “You should go to her.”                  Viethra went to Mae’s hut. She found her with her dual swords pointed at the mermaid who looked after her. Mae was relieved when she Viethra. Viethra immediately explained the situation to Mae.                  They went to watch as the mermaids sang around Myles. Suddenly, one of the three mermaids around Myles collapsed. Maisur jumped to the rescue and immediately his legs turned to a tail. He dragged the mermaid towards the shore where Sera and Selena went to their aid. Selena played her harp while Sera sang a song. The mermaid regained her consciousness and sought rest.
