Chapter Four “What do you mean your sister disappeared?” Lily asked before she could stop herself. The second the words left her mouth, the office became silent. Luca slowly raised an eyebrow. Damian turned toward Lily with an unreadable expression. “She left home three days ago,” he said coldly. “Her guards lost contact with her last night.” Lily frowned. “And nobody told you until now?” “They were afraid.” That answer alone said everything. Damian Knight was not the kind of man people delivered bad news to comfortably. Luca stood up from the couch. “I already sent men to the clubs, hotels, and airports.” Damian’s jaw tightened. “She wouldn’t leave the city.” Lily hesitated before speaking again. “Maybe she just needed space.” Both men looked at her like she’d lost her mind. “My sister doesn’t disappear without security,” Damian replied sharply. The office doors suddenly burst open. A young woman stormed inside angrily. She had long black hair, designer sunglasses, and an attitude sharp enough to cut glass. “Well, this is awkward,” Luca muttered. The woman removed her sunglasses dramatically. “Looking for me?” Damian froze. For the first time since Lily met him, genuine emotion crossed his face. Relief. Then anger immediately replaced it. “Arabella.” The girl rolled her eyes. “Don’t start.” “You disappeared for three days.” “And yet I survived.” Damian moved toward her slowly. “Do you have any idea what kind of chaos you caused?” Arabella crossed her arms stubbornly. “Maybe if you stopped controlling my life, I wouldn’t keep running away.” Lily stayed quiet, watching the tension between them. So this was Damian’s sister. Arabella suddenly noticed Lily standing near the desk. Her eyes narrowed suspiciously. “And who’s this?” “My assistant,” Damian answered immediately. Arabella blinked. Then smirked. “Oh, this is interesting.” Luca laughed under his breath. “That’s exactly what I said.” Arabella walked closer to Lily excitedly. “You’re pretty. No wonder my brother looks homicidal every time someone breathes near you.” “Arabella,” Damian warned. But his sister only grinned wider. For the first time all morning, Lily almost smiled. Almost.
