Chapter Six
The executive floor became complete chaos before noon.
Employees rushed through the hallways while whispers spread faster than wildfire.
“Olivia slapped someone downstairs.”
“No, she fired someone.”
“I heard she threw coffee at the receptionist.”
Lily blinked in confusion as Sophia hurried toward her desk.
“You might want to avoid the lobby.”
“Why?”
Sophia gave her a look. “Because Olivia Romano is down there destroying lives.”
Great.
Absolutely great.
Before Lily could ask another question, the elevator doors opened violently.
Olivia stepped out looking furious.
Her expensive heels clicked sharply against the marble floor as employees immediately scattered like frightened animals.
Her eyes landed directly on Lily.
There it is, Lily thought.
Death.
“You,” Olivia snapped.
Lily sighed quietly. “Good morning to you too.”
Olivia marched closer. “Do you enjoy embarrassing yourself?”
“Not particularly.”
“Then stop following Damian around like a lost puppy.”
Lily’s patience finally snapped slightly.
“I work here.”
Olivia laughed bitterly. “Please. Girls like you always think you’ll become special.”
The tension drew everyone’s attention immediately.
Even Ethan looked uncomfortable now.
Before Lily could answer, another woman suddenly appeared beside Olivia.
She was elegant, calm, and breathtakingly beautiful.
Unlike Olivia’s fiery attitude, this woman carried herself like royalty.
“Enough,” she said softly.
Olivia frowned. “Bianca—”
“I said enough.”
The woman turned toward Lily with a polite smile.
“I apologize for my cousin’s behavior.”
Cousin?
Interesting.
“I’m Bianca DeLuca.”
Lily nearly froze.
DeLuca.
The same family Damian blamed for attacking his shipment.
Bianca noticed her reaction immediately.
“Yes,” she said calmly. “That DeLuca family.”
Suddenly the atmosphere became dangerous again.
The office doors opened.
Damian stepped out slowly.
The second he saw Bianca standing near Lily, his expression darkened dangerously.
And for the first time…
Lily truly understood what fear looked like.
