CHAPTER TWELVE
Abby hummed as she wrapped the art set they had bought for Jeffrey. Lauren had insisted they shouldn’t get him a gift and Abby had been adamant that it would make Vic and her happy to get Jeffrey something he would like. Vic had the idea to buy him a set of comic books, so Abby wrapped those, also, and put them in the pile. They had also bought Lauren a gift card to the discount store down the street. There would surely be something she needed there.
When she finished wrapping, she set the presents under the tree with the four she and Vic had bought each other. On years when their girls couldn’t come for Christmas, Abby shipped their gifts, leaving it looking bare under the tree. Jeffrey’s two gifts made it look better. Abby looked forward to watching him open them.
