"But Elder! My shoes will get covered in mud!" Eliana shrieked, her voice echoing over the clearing as she stamped her glittering five-inch heel, looking at the damp, dirt-strewn path in absolute horror. I paused at the edge of the trail, looking back over my shoulder at her with a sharp, mocking smirk. The Elder didn't even bother to look down at her feet. "I do not care about your shoes." he barked, his voice dripping with old-school pack severity. I scanned the rest of the lined-up competitors.
